Hes not agile enough on the edge.
Has hoffman got a couple of years left in him? might be alright if he accepted a lower salary.
I think the experiment with Sue in the back row has to end, but I think our coach is too pig headed to change it. Although he's picking up valuable plodder of the year points I would say.
Why would you say the coach is pig headed?
I think the main problem is we have a decent pool of props both mainstay and emerging - Woods, Ava, Tim Grant, Felise, Tatola, Paseka, Mikaele, Lolo. I do agree Sue really belongs there too and Josh Aloiai seems to be developing into prop build as well.
JT doesn't have the dynamic or power backrower and honestly they are hard to come by. Would love Boyd Cordner or Papalii but we have to be realistic here. Ellis was a terrific and one-time signing, Dwyer was the next man, he's 28 now, and players like that don't grow on trees.
So I can understand Taylor trying to work one of his props into a more mobile backrower, sometimes you have to work with the cattle you have that season e.g. use of Halatau, JLJ.
I think Sue is a weak wide defender, he moves too late. And he's strong but he doesn't run onto the ball hard enough for someone who's not a total slouch in a straight line. Sue goes well when he takes tough hitups through the guts, but I'm sick of seeing him standing still when they give him the ball close to the line.
