So with all the reports coming out over the past few days.....what the bloody hell is going on with him?? It seems more than just a whiteanting to get him out from the job up there.....

I haven’t seen what was said I don’t do social media nonsense but it was obviously serious slander according to reports. But I can’t for the life of me see how anyone can 100% track down where it started. I admit I’m an old fart but I can’t for the life of me see how this could be tracked to a definitive source so in saying that I don’t think there will ever be a conclusion.

Which coaches may have an agenda against Siebold?

Anthony Seibold trolls reportedly ‘NRL associates’ with links to current coaches and ex-players

Anthony Seibold’s legal team are closing in on the alleged perpetrators of vile rumours that spread across social media regarding the Brisbane coach’s personal life.

And in a staggering development, cybersecurity experts have reportedly identified ‘associates with links to NRL people’ – including links to coaches and former NRL players and coaches – as the group allegedly behind the rumours.

Seibold’s legal team, headed by Dave Garratt, employed a European-led cybersecurity team to track down the vicious trolls.

And Courier Mail reporter Peter Badel told Fox League’s NRL360: “I can tell you some breaking news: the cybersecurity experts have found a group of people they believe are guilty of these social media slurs against Anthony Seibold.

“They are associates with links to NRL people. Those people are coaches, former coaches, and former NRL players.

“We’re not saying it’s the actual current coaches behind this, but associates – i.e. family, friends, partners.

“I spoke to Anthony Seibold’s lawyer (Garratt) today, and they’re 90 per cent sure they’ll get the men they’re after.

“They expect a final, definitive call in the next 24 to 48 hours. I think there’ll be some very nervous people in the NRL at the moment.”

Seibold’s legal team have previously stated they are considering pursuing suing the instigators of the rumours for defamation. Seibold has also lodged a formal complaint with Queensland police, which could lead to criminal proceedings.

“Given the brutality of some of the claims, Anthony Seibold seems a very determined man at the moment,” Badel said.

“He wants answers and he wants heads. So he may go down the legal path.”

The Broncos coach is currently self-isolating in his Brisbane home with his family after breaking the bubble last week for a family matter.

You'd think it would be the ones who either need a job, or who's job he took? Otherwise why would you go to the broncos right now?

I'd like to see them get named and shamed. Spreading rumours on social media, or any media, is a low act.

This thread is skating a very fine line, any discussion of the content of the rumours will see the post deleted and the thread locked.

I haven't seen the latest rumours, so no idea what they say.

I will find it interesting in which media sources publish what information. It is public knowledge who owns some media publications and also the Broncos, so will be interested in what slant of the story they decide to push.

Personally I'm happy for this to drag out, the longer it takes to resolve the matter, the longer the Broncos will be a shambles of a club, and I think it's a nice change that some other club is the shambles for once.

I agree on the fact of the club being a shambles.....

I don't agree on the attack on the man himself.

I wonder why an entity would have this agenda? Things were panning out to change anyway if people were unhappy, so why such an aggressive push?

No idea. Maybe it's a combined corporate attack against him, maybe its just an individual or two. Maybe it's just some silly trolls who saw their opportunity.

There's not much around to stop trolling these days, I do hope whatever is happening doesn't affect his family. I loathe the Broncos, but don't want a coach's (or anyone's) family dragged into it.

Meta data must be kept for 2 years now by carriers, I believe?
IP addresses are attached. I believe it s possible, but legally possible? Now that’s another issue.

Why else would they be legally required to hold the data if there was no legal avenue to source it?

Is this a way to try and take the focus off himself and the team

Wayne Bennett would be proud ...if he didn't hate your guts so much

Anti terrorism.

I’ve seen the rumours and disgusting Is an understatement. Not his biggest fan but feel sorry for the guy . At the end of the day it’s just a sport. Why people can resort to stuff like this beggars belief.

Haven't seen/read the rumours, but can guess the nature of them.

I too feel horrible for him, like him or not the man has a family and a life outside of football that is more important than the game.

Easy pal, it's a discussion about the effects/agendas and not the rumours themselves.

Which is why the thread is still here, the rumours have already needed to be deleted so it was just a reminder.

content is bad, would fully expect Seibold to call out whoever is behind it and if there are direct links to NRL staff and/or players this could get really ugly.

I'm not a fan of the Broncos or Seibold.

But the bloke has gone through enough.

I can't imagine the sort of stress he must be under and what impact it's having on his mental health.

He's at the richest club with a history of achievement, but he has been dealt a dud hand in terms of roster.

It will be interesting if the names of the people involved are made public from what we've heard so far there's current and ex players officials and coaches being mentioned. Will definitely shake things up big time if and when it comes out
