How is the cost relevant??? A 2nd grade player got a chance to triple his money and play top level EPL.
He wanted to go and we let him.
If (and its a big if) Shannon,who may i remind you is a local and played in the GF winning EPL side does get a conrtact it would be about the same as Jy,They arent big as the budget is limited but its more about the chance of getting a go in firsts.

A lot of people are really over the top on this subject. There is no harm in trialling someone, does not cost a cent.
Complaints about how much we will be paying him ring out all over the land. How much has Moltzen cost the club over the past three years?
I believe that we are going to be paying him for this year as well!!!
He has as much chance as making first grade as me.

I was at this Game and the Video doesn't do McDonnell justice. But you can clearly see his try assists and Amazing solo effort. He was fantastic in this game and all over the place.
I had a chat to him and his old man after the game, Shortly after it was announced he was leaving - I couldn't believe the knights had let him go!!
No, He's not the most amazing Fullback to ever play for us… But he's far from the worst!!
Now, he's trialling for a contract (2nd Tier at that) Get off the gas boys, I hope he grabs it with both hands...

- Recruitment of second string players;
- Inability to lure key talent to the club;
- Return of players to the club years after the fact or out of retirement;
- Jobs for the boys;
- Nepotism.
It's all happened since Sheens time here. McDonnell is the only constant. How the hell has he managed to keep his job? Sirro lost his position with the juniors, but this turd is allowed to hang on again? He is the last shred of failure hanging around from the previous administrations. I have no problem saying that Shannon would not have got a call up for a train on if his father didn't work at the club.
That's the reason why people are pissed. We let him go because we felt he wasn't good enough. He's being let go from the superannuation league, no other clubs are interested so we throw the lifeline. Reeks of the same old shit this club has always engaged in. It's no wonder no decent players take us seriously, or they need huge coin to get them here.

Whilst I somewhat agree with your sentiment. Put Warren McDonnell in the same position at the Bulldogs and see if you could still say the same? Not that I care much either way, But He is only doing the best he can with what he's got to offer - Which isn't a lot.
As a professional outfit, We simply failed to move with the times. I blame a couple things:
1: The Sheer Arrogance of the people in charge.
2: We won the comp, Which gave us an excuse to leave it as it was...
A lot of People are forgetting that Tedesco is a considerable signing for the club, As is Ava, Sita and few of those boys...

If Warren McDonnell was at the Bulldogs I wouldn't care altogether. In fact, I will recommend him to Raelene Castle myself.
