Shannon McDonnell Return 2015

Maybe we do need back-ups at fullback. I wonder if the club can manage to sign either Gary Jack or John Dorahy for a 12 months playing contract?

He is training for a tier 2 contract, he is decent for that level, I think his lineage is hurting him here.
No one would care if some other similar player was a chance to play reserve grade.

I think he could be good value , if we have a problem at the back , he can move in without our hole team getting re positioned , he may not play top grade , but he knows how to play I to if needed

Shannon Mcdonnell ha ha ha

I thought it was a joke. However i should have known.

We bought Fitzhenry back, we bought Royce Simmonds back, we bought Halatau back, we bought Skando out of retirement and then in to a position of power. No knock on those blokes or Mcdonnell, they serve the club as best they can and in the case of most of these they were involved in the glory of 2005.

**People who has proven in the past to be duds or are way past their used by date come back in and we expect this club to get out of its constant mediocrity some seem to accept/cherish.\
\
Thats why people get annoyed I think.**

Yes you think correctly, at least as far as I'm concerned.

That's my sentiments. The club is once again going back to the future. The same promises are made by administration and football operations every year, and the same old rubbish recurs. It's not so much the player in question, it's the fact that yet another player that was let go or moved on years ago has now returned for another bite of the cherry because he has connections here. This club is the epitome of nepotism.

Happy to see what Lolo can bring to the table but McDonnell is a germ who should be wiped out just like his morbidly obese old man.

What a nasty post that is …...... calling Shannon McDonnell a germ is distasteful to say the least. Do you care to expand as to why he gets such a label ?

100% spot on.

Also, it appears that some people would try and defend a turd with the WT logo on it if we signed it…

I don't get all the drama. Its not like he is a marquee signing and we desperately needed outside backs last year.

Give him a chance and see how he goes.

Its not even a signing. Its a trial for a State Cup contract.

Still waiting for my apologies about How I didn't have a clue when I called Mick Potter a dud..
Ohh we love Mick… it's the players...Where is the great man now ?

I am a little bit different from you guys..I actually know what I am talking about.

I'll tell you where he is Irvine - "HE IS OUT OF A JOB"

Basically because a whole stack of dopes wouldn't play for him - because they had their own agendas and he had no power to p..s them off.

He unlike them is a gentleman.

Now, can we stop going back to 2014 - concentrate on this year and stay on thread.

Thanks Irvine - I am sure you wouldn't want to put s..t on a gentleman.

The drama lies with the club trying to bolster membership numbers and the good news is the club is trailing park footballers , yes this all goes well for punters thinking of becoming members . I do not want to give this guy a go his time has pasted a long time ago , I want new rising talent like other clubs seem to sign on not much money….

Amazing how much drama there is over a trial for a State Cup contract.

My question is … Will he be entitled to free sandwiches from Harry's new kitchen ??

It sure does :unamused:

Simon,I know people have their opinion one way or another, wether it be a new signing, new board or coach….we all have discussions and arguments in whatever the thread, however in this case, most of the forumers aren't happy about a trial contract for an ex player from the club, even if it is for state cup...

With the year we had in 2014 and the clean out we had so to speak,I think there is an expectation of the club going to be competitive and progressing forward..I don't want to knock Shannon I really don't care if he has a trial and does get a contract, what most want is a good start to 2015 and some positives to void all the negatives we have had.The word that comes to mind regarding WTs recruitment is Frustration...
