Sharks NRL recruit Fifita bares his claws

Fifita will become a great player, unfortunately I believe he needed the kick in the pants he got with the Tigers towards the end of last year to get him out of a negative frame of mind. He got a lot of raps early in his career and most likely thought he was not replaceable and lost his way.

I also think give him another year and he has SOO written all over him.

cant wait for the game against the sharks , while fifita is trying to smash somebody, poor old gibbsy will be trying to stop us putting 30 on them , also miller has got an attitude , not a good one

Think some a re bit harsh on Groat in the warriors game. When Gibbs went down early, it was always going to be a battle for the big men up front to cover the loss. What is to say Fifita would not have been found out too?

For the record, I think Fifita has as much potential as Groat, and the correct decision was made to keep Groat over Fifita. Time will tell though. Woods is easily the one to get excited about out of the three.

Bug we lost that semi last year for 2 reasons - the main being fatigue. The boys busted their arses to get us there which was a monumental effort considering they played a large part of the season without the best squad being available. They were buggered and were over run in the back quarter. The second reason was our playmakers didnt choose the best options.

Andrew wouldnt have made the difference.

I do think though that the bloke has an enormous potential and hope to see him play well. His efforts in the allstar game were better than any game he played for us last year. I also admire his attitude of wanting to show the club they made a mistake. He wasnt talking any smack and I think he'll play well.

Feel sorry for Gibbsey, first game of the year and he is at Leichardt.

Fifita bares his claws.
He better be careful, some one will come along with pliers and pull them out, or use clippers to cut them .
being a shark now, should he show his teeth/jaws.

the only person who made a mistake, was Andrew, by not playing to his full potential consistently all season.

That is very true. He dropped his bundle when he thought that he was putting in and wasn't getting picked. Then his poor games in State Cup followed. There have been dozens of talented players over the years that never got a run ahead of less talented team mates under the Fonz as coach. Someone should have just whispered that in Fifita's ear. "Dont drop your bundle son, keep working hard. Work hard and you will be back''.

He is a thousand times more talented than Matty GROAT at this stage of his career and his salary at the Sharks is indicitive of that. Its time Fifita stepped up to the plate as a man and started to be more responsible for his own development, his own direction and his own future.

The Sharks are career killers. Just look at Anthony Topou and Trent Barrett. The only recruit that has developed there recently has been Kade Snowden and he is now at Newcastle.

Fifita's career will go the same way and he will slowly settle into mediocrity.

I like your last sentence Bug but unfortunately I don't think Fifita is anywhere near that level at the moment he has been making what imo are silly statements about wanting to show in the first game what Sheens and the WTs supporters are missing. For me he should have said very little and let his game do the talking, it would have been a far more mature approach.

Like Who?

Where are they now?

Seems the Fonz isn't the only one who has favorites…hmmm

It's no secret you're a big fan of Fifita's Bug. Yep, when he's on song and having a red hot go he is pretty good to watch. However I'm quietly confident Groat will show more development this year than Fifita. At the same age Groat is stronger, fitter and more importantly, listens.

Bahaha… It looks like A Fifita is somewhat down the list for Round 1

_The Sharks have named an almost full strength side (minus Gallen) to take on the Knights in Muswellbrook on Saturday:\
\
1\. Nathan Gardner, 2\. Stewart Mills, 3\. Ben Pomeroy, 4\. Colin Best, 5\. Matthew Wright, 6\. Wade Graham, 7\. Todd Carney, 8\. Bryce Gibbs, 9\. Isaac De Gois, 10\. Ben Ross, 11\. Jeremy Smith (c), 12\. Sam Tagataese, 13\. Jayson Bukuya. Interchange: 14\. Jeff Robson, 15\. Mark Taufua, 16\. Jon Green, 17\. John Morris, 18\. John Williams, 19\. Chad Townsend, 23\. Tyson Frizell, 24\. Anthony Tupou, **25\. Andrew Fifita**, 27\. Ricky Leutele, 28\. Josh Cordoba, 31\. Isaac Gordon, 33\. Sosaia Feki, 34\. Tyrone Peachey_

Don't honestly know why you think it's so funny , it's only a trial and i'd say there saving him for round 1 .

Your probably right… judging by the amount of air he was blowing in the All-Stars games after 2 minutes on the pitch, its best he doesnt do too many kms before Round 1?!

Fifita made his first grade debut against the Sydney Roosters, coming off the bench and scoring a try in the match. It was the first of 22 appearances for the 2010 season.
At the start of the 2011 season, Fifita was chosen to participate in a NSW developmental squad. In the off-season he had dropped about 10 kilos to be playing at about 109 kg.
Fifita started the season at prop, but was dropped from first grade after round 17 and never returned. "I was always saying, 'Let me play, let me play,'" Fifita said. "But Sheens said just go to NSW Cup. I was pulling 80 minutes each game there, what can you do? You're up against the coach. You can't say anything. At the end I had kind of given up. I thought there was no more first grade for me." Shane Flanagan will know how to get the best out of him..Rest assured.

Yeah Flanagan's won multiple premierships with multiple clubs and coached at SOO and the Australian side he will be far better off then Sheens to get the best out of him :unamused:

Add Adam Cuthbertson to that list… Could barely get a game for Gymea when he was on the Sharks books. In between was a regular first grader.

Is it just me, or does Andrew from My Kitchen Rules look exactly like Andrew Fifita (maybe in another 15-20 years!)

I think it every night when I watch the show!! If you haven't watched then check it out tonight…
