Sheens attempting to do what he did in 2003, re clearout??

Only 3.4 years to go of our pretender

You're kidding right ??

Mr Sheen will leave his coaching position at Wests Tigers in his will to be passed down to his decendents.

It will take an act of parliament to have him removed.

dont worry, the independents are in Gillard's pocket so Timmy will go eventually.

no it's dumb is what it is, there was NO sign of a cleanout at the beginning of the year, so why do it in the middle of the year??

Exactly! There's no pretending this is anything other than mismanagement. :bash

Sheens has always had the respect of the players, but that has certainly changed recently, meaning the status quo was untenable. Either Sheens goes or the players go. No prizes for guessing which way Sheens would go with that choice :unamused:

I remember Sheen's contract renegtiasion took an awful long time. Maybe this restructure was flagged as part of the deal and the board baulked at the idea first. More speculation I should just keep my uneducated/unappreciated opinions to myself hay 666.

I really dont care if this "cleanout" is due to cap mismanagement.
But if due to the "cleanout", they are going to sacrifice this season, I will bloody care.
Humphreys, Sheens etc may have made mistakes by not managing the cap properly,
but we all make mistakes.
No one here knows how to manage an NRL club,
ofcourse we can sit back and criticise them for their lack of management,
but as far as I'm aware Humphreys doesn't have much experience, and with all the good things he has done at the club since he came here, I believe he will do a cracking job at it once he gets more experience.

I partly do blame Sheens and co. for the failure of this year,
but its mostly the players who have let us down,
they look disinterested and clearly DO NOT act like a professional club.

That being said, the season is not over yet,
return of a couple more big players will get us underway,
and IF we do make the finals from hereon, we will be the team in form,
like Roosters last year, the Eels before that, the Warriors(?) before that etc

Humphries and co may have screwed up this year big time
but if this cleanout doesn't work next year,
then serious action must be taken, starting with the sacking of Sheens.

We were one point away from the grand final last year.

Sheens won us out first premiership on 36 years. He won it with players that bleed black and gold. If the rest of the fans want to buy a premiership like the roosters did.

Our defense in the past month has been close to the best we have ever had. This year is not over, we will make the 8 and we will win the comp.

Can we please believe in our footy club for once. Midway through 05 we were 151-1 to win the premiership…everyone on this forum talks alot if crap and I bet half havent run let alone play league in the past 10 years. Your opinion dosent matter!

how can he have won us our first premiership in '36' yrs when we've only been in the competition for 11? :unamused: this is the Wests Tigers isn't it?

And you dont think it wests magpies….get off it....It was the first premiership in 36 years for the now combined club.

No. It was the first premiership in 11 years for the "combined" club.

how did he win us our first premiership in '36' yrs when we've only been around 11? :unamused: this is the Wests Tigers remember.I'm sure if you ask guyz like Hodgson,Skando and Gibbs, they would bleed White as well as Black and Gold

It is people like Andy666 that cause division on this forum.

It was only his 7th post so I think that may be a bit harsh. In saying that, the reference to "bleeding gold and black" in clearly inflammatory and we can all see the discussion gets distracted.

The moderators should be editing/stopping such blatant comments.

I agree. He needs to distinguish between Balmain (who no longer field an open age side) and Wests Tigers who are in their 12th year and are 50% owned by Balmain. It is quite offensive to have another person infer that Wests Tigers are basically Balmain.

Back on topic though re the ' clearout' , when will signings be announced? Over $1 million dollars of talent has been forced to leave so far. Where is that money going ??

Remember they were advised AGAINST going ahead with trying to claim exemptions for Farah & Gibbs and their time in flegg…..they said ''f you'' and went ahead, they got caught, fined big time and this is the result.
No excuses.

What doesnt make sense is why all these blokes were re-signed and then rissoled. Why go through the pain of contract renegotiations just to sack them after it is all completed.

I have no problem with the cleanout but why has it been done in this way?

If you have no problem then whats the big deal….why all the complaining.... who knows the real reason but i know sheens is no dope.IS there anyone we letting go that you think is wrong....Let them prove sheens wrong....they havent so far.

Your points are all correct…which makes your argument completely invalid.
\
\
Exactly how do you know Sheens is no dope? He has done a 100 dopey things during his time here.

In your opinion hes done dopey things but what does that really mean coming from you or anyone else on here.

Where my comments are based on what people in the know…. ex league players say about sheens. He cant pull the wool over all those eyes.

so the 6 would be
3.Simona
6.Sironen
7.Miller
15.Groat
16.Murdoch
17.Begovich
he probley might not even count Murdoch, miller cause there in our top 25

Thats right it is my opinion. Its my right to articulate it.

My point was yes there is deadwood in the club and yes there has been for some time. Why were they all re-signed and then told to move on? As of today there are 8 confirmed blokes leaving at seasons end. If you believe the rumors it may end up being 10+, most with years left on current contracts.

With only Blair being seriously rumored to be joining us that means that a heap of NYC players will be regulars in the top grade next year. At the time of these contract extensions, that would not have been the case.

What has changed? IMO we must be in deep poo with the auditors…

I dont think we would be in deep…..if we didnt get a fine for that technicAL breach which apparently they are fighting the charge we would have been ok so i wouldnt have thought we have dramas.

i think he going in another direction and the nrl making changes to the ruck has and the way we have played...he has a gutful....i applaud the club for been professional and not announcing anything until its a done deal.We will buy players and look at the calibre we after now compare to years gone by.

Agree 100%.

It's not the fact that we are having a clean out and I also have no problem with this. It's the fact that these players were re-signed and then told they had no future with the club. Smells of incompetence. It could have been handled very differently resulting in very different on-field results.
