Potter has inherited a team Sheens team.
Potter is coaching Sheens picked players.
We're still admist a Sheens phenonomen.
When will the club allow Potter to rebuild his own team & culture
How long do we have to wait.
Life is too short - we have to start thinking about 2014.
When will Potter take over once & for all.
The bunnies look menacing- it took the coach his second year to click but
buying the huge Burgess brothers plus Teo should see them one team in this years grand final.
When can/will Potter make his mark??
Sheens is still our ghost.

Hopefully Sheens will take up an offer to coach elsewhere soon. This will stop the club losing big bucks and if there are any players that still want to play under him they can go do that.

Then Potter can put all on notice, cut what he doesn't want and get what he does.

Might take longer than 2 years…

This is the clubs doing ..Sheens should not have been given another contract. It's not just Sheens team but Sheens assistant coaches ,Sheens trainers so really coach Potter has an uphill battle .
Hopefully in the next month the Coach will start to make changes but changes will be minimal as injuries have struck early , but until the the Ghost of Sheens and his band of brothers have been removed we all will just have to wait and the wait could be for some time as there has to be a lot of rebuilding.

I'm going to punt on next year being a massive improvement, but 2015 will be the year we make our mark as Potter's Tigers.

I think most new coaches are willing to give the incumbents a chance first. They dont really know if it was the current players or previous coach that was responsible for previous seasons results.Plus they dont know each players weakness and strengths. Maguire didnt lob into Souths and move Inglis to fullback straight up.

I expect the next few weeks Potter will be getting his real side settled. If not I'll be starting to get worried.

I couldn't help reading this like it was a poem

we need to have a really bad year to allow a rebuild tbh

I've got a horrible feeling that is coming this year Macca.

I have to say, the Farah replacement against Manly has really knocked my confidence in Potter. I can't see any sense in it. And I have to agree with every pet shop galah squawking that Fulton and Anasta together starting does not work.

Sheens has gone but everyone else is still there. Must be a difficult job taking advice from the same people that "helped" Sheens.

I don't know what sort of guy Potter is and who he looks to for advice at the club…whoever it is maybe ask someone else this week.

Sheens was with us for ten years and he won a premiership, he won't dissapear that easily. Potter has got to make what he has work, we have many guys off contract so the one Potter wants, resign them, the others tally up ther money and then see exactley how much coin he has to play with. Then he can start to have a look around.

its pretty simple we don't have the right cattle, okay Sheens can be blamed for that, but it is not a easy fix. The old demand and supply thing. Its not easy enticing quality players to struggling clubs, just ask Ricky Stuart.

You can have all the quality young kids coming through but they will go nowhere if they are promoted to a team that is struggling. We need a massive shake up or a bomb let off, after 2005 we should have gone from strength to strength but we blew it and now we are back to where we started from.I doubt we will finish above 13th

I hope Potter has his say with this team in the next couple weeks. He's seen them play now for a good 6 weeks, maybe another 1 or 2 weeks to critique different combinations but I'm hoping he will be able to settle with a structure and build it mid-end season.

He has a struggle with the injuries and having to build a structure without those players but hopefully they can slot back in where they belong.

The majority of this team is a Sheen's team, what he has left Potter to do something with, but like Gallagher said, Maguire moved Inglis after some weeks and I hope Potter has the metal to do the same.

Why wouldn't he have his say? He is the coach…

Hopefully the SG Ball Balmain team of last season will begin floating into our first grade ranks by 2014 or 2015 and Potter will mould the squad based on his own philosophy. From all reports the Harold Matthews Magpies team must be alright, so they will come through the ranks in the latter half of this decade.

We are talking 3-5 years, but unfortunately, that is how long it will take to fully clean out the players and structure of a coach that was in existence for 10 years.

Doesn't matter what players we get as long as Benji is in the team we will never change. If you threw him into the storm side do you think they'd be as good?

sorry guys, i should think before i post a new topic.
I just realized that it took Potter a few years to make his mark in England at least.
I should be more patient.
The right thing to do would be extend Potters contract.
We have the time & in time Sheens & all his constituents will slowly fade away.
We havent seen the real Potter yet.

Potter won't be able to change a lot this season. I suspect we'll see some changes to our style in defence and attack start to filter through as the season moves along. The reality though is a journey and we're only 4 weeks into that journey. The further you travel, the further away you get from the original point and the closer you get to your desired destination. At the moment we still look far too much like the old Tigers in every aspect but I confidently say that will change in the second half of the season. Do I suspect our form though to improve?? Not really. I think we're lacking in two key department. Speed and size. This will ensure we don't challenge with the contenders.
