Sheens Interview

I listened to the interview with Tim Sheens on 2SM yesterday and I reckon it was the most positive I`ve heard him speak about the side in the whole time he`s been with the Wests Tigers. He seemed very optimistic about our chances of winning games even with so many injuries and seem to have a huge amount of confidence in our younger players.
Like many others I`ve been highly critical of Sheens` team selections at times, in particular when he has seemed to have stuck with the same old players week in week out even when the team as a whole as well as certain individuals were not performing.
But as the end of the day he has delivered us a GF victory against the odds back in `2005 and although it`s been a very lean period since, he has now built a side that has plenty of depth and is expected to be perched at the top of the ladder. Add to this that it is mainly made up of local talent, players that were signed by the club at a very young age, a few cast offs from rival clubs and a couple of astute buys that were not poached from rival NRL clubs.
Personally I`m very proud of the fact that the club I follow has gone about building it`s squad this way, rather than doing things like most other clubs who would rather poach other teams players than promote their own talent.
With this said and done, I really believe we should be signing Sheens as our coach for as long as he likes.

Well said Vicious - I heard the interview and agree with everything you said.

We don't need Sheens,we need a witch doctor or faith healer at the moment, but yes he has done a good job, lets see what he does with selections this week.

Always has been a great coach, since 2005 the amount of injuries we have had has been incredable & we will be right when all our players come back & will keep winning in the meantime.

Hers's hoping they put it on their website soon.

We should all send em emails

I heard it too. Excellent interview for Tigers fans. Seems confident enough all things considered. He's really happy with the young forwards and heaped praise on Farah, Marshall and Lui as leaders providing the direction the young forwards need. Also really happy with Utai and his early hitups taking some pressure off the young forwards.

The attitude he is trying to rub off on the players through this injury crisis is to "bring your shoulder pads" as we still have enough strike players to score points as long as we are willing to put the shoulder in in defense.

Supposedly lawrence was in alot of pain but still ensuring his teammates he'll be back to play a part in our season.

He said the rest of the players owe it to Lawrence and the injured players to make sure they are getting on with things in their absence.

I wouldn't want any other coach at present.
