Sheens on 2UE @ 2/10/12 7pm

'Tim has asked that no questions be asked about the wests tigers and we're going to respect that'

Seriously couldn't be happier that this bloke is gone after hearing that, he simply can not be questioned.

Dictator Sheens.

Oh do [This word has been automatically removed] off… Respect the mans wishes & show some respect for what he has done for this club in his 10 years and not just in the last 5 minutes.

Dickheads on this forum make me vomit.

oh come on, i hate sheens and have for a long time but he's appearing on the show as the Australian coach on the day that the Australian team is named. Fair enough to limit the questions to that, fairly important, issue.

it's a media corporation, they should ask what the listeners want them to ask. I (and everybody else) wants them to ask about the tigers. If that was any other rep coach they would have asked questions. If it was Kearney they would ask him and he would answer.

I don't care if they ask something and he says 'that's going to get worked out soon, the club is currently in its off season and I'm focusing on the kangaroos' I'd be ok

But to demand that no questions get asked shows the complete arrogance of the man

Depends who organised the interview. If it was between the ARL and 2UE then fair enough if the content is only about the Kangaroos. But if it was between Sheens and 2UE then they should bombard him with everything the public wants.

Lol typical. Would be too proud to discuss his downfall. The ego wouldn't allow it

Disagree Softlaw

Once he had finished with the questions regarding the Test Match , there is no reason at all he can't take any Wests Tigers questions

Bet it wouldn't have been an issue if we had just won the premiership

What does he think if he doesn't talk about it , it might just all go away ??

Have you thought that he issue is still sore for him. Give the guy a break. If you were fired from your job, would you want to answer questions in the media about it within the next 14 days?

Has nothing to do with arrogance. He is doing the interview to promote the Test match and otherwise would clearly avoid media commitments until the issue is no longer sore. Can't blame him for that.

I'd want the truth out there , good or bad

Thats what accountability is all about

Something Tim fears as we have seen

hahahaha, OK, fair enough. My one attempt to defend sheens and I was way off the mark. Apparently he was happy to talk about the tigers on MMM instead today:
http://www.triplem.com.au/sydney/sport/nrl/news/blog/tim-sheens-discusses-falling-out-with-certain-players-at-wests-tigers-helped-lead-to-his-coaching-demise/20121002-hc19.html

Sacked Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens has opened up on Triple M's The Rush Hour on some of the reasons behind why he is no longer coach of the club.

Sheens admitted that looking to the future of the club may have played a part in him falling out of favour, particularly in light of Beau Ryan and Chris Heighington heading to Cronulla Sharks.

"Obviously players get to a time when they may still have a little bit in the tank and are still valued by some clubs and not others. So it does depend on your roster and what's coming through, what you need to strengthen your roster and the salary cap mark which bites very badly these days," Sheens told Triple M.

"It's not like the old days when you could have a Test player playing second grade .. you just can't do that anymore so there's a fair bit to add up."

On the subject of Benji Marshall being so outspoken about Ryan and Heighington departing Tigers, Sheens drew a link with everyone thinking they have a right to say whatever they like these days.

"With social media, everyone's got a voice these days," Sheens said. "The average punter can have his say. You only have to read some of the different forums to understand that so I think generally public today think they have a right to say something, and possibly everyone does, that's not an issue."

"But it's management running the place and taking control. That's really what it has to be. Whereas you do listen to your people I think strong management is needed in any organisation."

As a journo on another station said about other journos….(about an interviewee not wishing to discuss a certain issue) .....if you dont have a crack youre not doing your job

He said he really enjoyed the grand final, compared it to 89 and Big Mal ankle tapping Neil, and benny missing the field goal

Maybe he did read the forum after all lol.
