Sheen's ongoing contract

It's a club embarrassment that this saga is still going on. We are paying for two coaches, approx 250k for Potter and around 450k for Sheens, with no apparent resolution in sight. For this reason alone, the CEO should have been given his marching orders. It's apparent there was no appropriate termination clause in Sheen's contract. No current activity to negotiate a settlement either through his management or legally.

The Board and Humphrey's need to bite the bullet and end this sorry saga. Sheens ain't goin nowhere, why would he ?

So in addition to paying out 700K a year annually on coaches, you want to pay out the CEO too? I reckon if they managed to get out of paying Sheens, Humphreys would have dumped in a New York minute.

We're paying him anyway. The way it's going he'll get his 450k anyway. Negotiate a payout or terminate and go legal.

Yep and Humphrey's needs to be accountable for this , what is wrong with clauses in contract's that if your not performing your out the door , it's o.k for coaches to have bonuses in reaching the semi's or top 4 .
Tigers Management and the board should be accountable for giving it the o.k.

Go legal? For what? As much as I hate to admit, especially when it's been said that he allegedly promised to step down if we didn't make the 8 in 2012, he's still legally entitled to every dollar he signed on for.

If he did in fact promise to stand down and hasn't kept his word, he is obviously morally bankrupt and I hope it bites him on the arse in one way or another, but he is still legally able to claim the full contract.

Why cry over spilled milk…. as long as we learn from these experiences and have our legal team be more wiley and write KPI incentives and outs into all contracts in the future.

Why should Humphreys be held accountable for this?? Didn't he re-sign Sheens on instructions from the board? Didn't he sack Sheens as per instructions from the board as well?

Exactly mate! Humpty's not the guy to throw complete blame on for this. More of the scapegoat than anything. Oh and if we're going over old ground again, why don't we also bring up the part where Sheens said in a press conference that he'd walk if we didn't make the 8\. Man of his word sheenius! Man of his word.

Mate, I believe you're correct. He did say that he would walk.

He did walk, he's just walking with pockets stuffed with cash.

Just wish some desperate ESL team would gobble his BS up and sign him

Honestly he's a great coach TRUST US :smiling_imp:

IF we are paying him he should be doing something for the club.

Make him clean out the toilet block after a game at Leichhardt

i pretty sure that last time this sdid the rounds that it was in 2011 he made the promise

It means nothing though, he can argue he said it under duress etc in court.

If I were the club, I would be sitting him at a computer and spend the next 18 months doing administration work. He's entitled to the money, but make the liar work for it.

Well said B n W. People need to get over the whole Sheens debacle, what's done is done. Pretty sick of hearing him get the blame for the sorry-arse position the club now finds itself in and for every crap decision the club has made the last few years. The management in general are frightened kiddies in an adult world TBH, hopefully this is rectified ASAP and we make better decisions in the future.

You would think that Sheens is having a quiet chuckle at where we are now though.

im dead set that it would say "450k for head coach" in there somewhere. And there'd be a clause that ensures he gets his payout if we fire him.

Nothing to do now, the contract's been written and if there was a way around it they'd have found it by now.

Let's just leave it. we are gonna pay Sheens a million over 2 years, no two ways about it.
