Apart from Ellis I struggle to come up with a good recruit made by Sheens the last 4 years…. Come to think of it in his 10 years at WT apart from Prince and Ellis who of significance who came in and REALLY contributed has Sheens recruited??? Most of his recruits have been absolute duds....

2005\. Thats how we'll remember Sheens.

X2

Brett Hodgson, that win against the cowboys in the finals he scoored what 30 Points and really started that 4 game heroics. We miss a good fullback.

Yet to be seen if it was a good or bad move but he did bring Miller across from the Roosters. Praised him when he signed, not sure what happened along the way.

Bell was an astute buy, as was Utai, both valuable and cheap.

A 76kg fullback we got from Parra (originally a magpie) would qualify as a genius recruitment I would have thought…

Joel Reddy isn't 76kg and was never a magpie :roll

Hodgo most certainly qualifies as long as he was bought during the Sheens era

OK so this is one of those anti Sheens threads yeah. … So everyone that has been any good was recruited by McDonnell whilst all the duds were brought in by Sheens ???????

Marika K, all the Keebra Park guys, Galloway, Tuaki, Ellis, Utai, Prince, Richards, Hodgson, Whatuira, ayshford, Miller, Fifita jason Cayless, Daine Laurie (ha ha) ...

Im not one to defend Sheens but the "op" is a little off.

Id consider Ellis, Whatuira, Hodgson, Prince, Richards, Galloway, Sattler all good signings.

Id say the list is longer for poor signings though

I certainly have to disagree that Elford and Galea were bad signings. They held the team together witheir defence in 2005\. When you buy and sell it is par for the course to get a few duds and a few winners. Ask Lloyd Williams the owner of the Melbourne Cup winner. If you want to compare Sheens' record compare it with Parrammatta's record over the last 10 or so years.

While i am one of the first to bag sheens, I can't agree with half those players listed. A lot of them were Juniors who came through and where given a shot ( maybe a little late) and never impressed. Show me one club that hasn't had this happen?

Then others like.

Laurie. He was good and everyone was calling for him to be given a shot just didn't have the work ethic or discipline to make it.

Cayless. Cheap signing that was worth a shot.

Ohara. Hardly Sheen's fault that he kept getting injured.

Tandy. For years people on this forum screamed for him to be given a go and when he did he didn't impress again hard to blame sheens for that.

Most of the other "signings" you have listed would have been min wage every club has these types of players.

As for people he bought to the club

Hodgo, Richards, Prince, Sattler, Ellis, Payten, Galloway, Ryan, Tuiaki (Turned him into a winger), Whatuira, Lui and Bell.

Plus Tuqiri and Morris were not bad signings. Tuqiri was in great form before getting injuried and Morris was played out of postion.

TNT was brought in by Royce, who spotted him himself.
Sheens use to recruit players and then not give them a fair go,he has done this for the past 7 seasons,he also never recruited a replacement for Prince, that is a massive fail from him,and just about assures his overall recruiting a fail, why not recruit what you need, and why not play who you recruit. :crazy .

Which ones were juniors….I left juniors OUT...amybe tagive & Kerr

Danny Galea

No ones saying it dont happen elsewhere.....the apologists cant help themselves

Laurie. He was good and everyone was calling for him to be given a shot just didn't have the work ethic or discipline to make it.

Dud....always was, still is a dud...hasnt kicked on anywhere else

Cayless. Cheap signing that was worth a shot.

Go buy a cheap $2 spanner....it wont be worth it. Dud

Ohara. Hardly Sheen's fault that he kept getting injured.

He didnt have any footwork, some footwork at the line wouldve given him some longevity imo
Theres a reason he played only ONE origin game- dud

Tandy. For years people on this forum screamed for him to be given a go and when he did he didn't impress again hard to blame sheens for that.

LOL....he was only here for one year - dud

Sattler - LOL...did bugger all here

I mentioned the positives earlier.....maybe a dozen over a decade....much like his less the 50% win ration and 30% semis appearance record......Sheens is a dud, was over rated MASSIVELY everywhere- glad he's gone
