UNDER-PRESSURE Wests Tigers chief executive Steve Humphreys conceded Tim Sheens would not be offered a new role that involved working alongside disgruntled players.
Sheens fell out with key players, including Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah, over the past three weeks. Those same senior players were involved in the club's end-of-season review.
There have been suggestions Sheens may be offered a coaching director's role - but that would appear highly unlikely.
"There are lots of roles at our club that may or may not involve being around the NRL squad," Humphreys said.
Pressed on whether the players could still work under Sheens, Humphreys said: "I have not said that. What I would say is that all of us at the Wests Tigers, including the players and the senior players, have nothing but the highest regard for Tim."

Buzz: The reality is Sheens had to go
The Tigers have formed a sub-committee to appoint a new coach. The leading candidates are Kevin Walters, Matt Parish, Daniel Anderson and Nathan Brown.
"We would not stand in Kevin's way if he had the chance to be head coach of an NRL team," Storm football operations manager Frank Ponissi said.
"He'd be a fantastic head coach and his two years under Craig (Bellamy) have made him even better."
Asked whether Sheens was offered another position to prevent a hefty payout, Tigers chairman David Trodden said: "I reckon that's really disrespectful to Tim and disrespectful for the people at this club who hold him in such high regard."
Trodden yesterday urged Sheens to remain at the club in some capacity.
"We are very keen for Tim to continue at our club in a senior role as part of our restructure," Trodden said.
"He has been offered a position. To be fair to Tim, this has all happened quite suddenly. He will need to consider his position over the coming period of time.
"I think it's fair to say that Tim is disappointed that he won't be coaching the NRL team next year. That's to be expected."
Wests Tigers are in crisis at the moment amid suggestions Marshall has too much say, star players are leaving and the club is without a coach six weeks before pre-season training. There is even angst on the board between Wests Magpies and Balmain Tigers directors.
Humphreys said the Sheens decision came after his club conducted a "thorough review" after a "disappointing" season.
Sheens still had two years remaining on his contract.
Asked was Sheens sacked or did he quit, Trodden said: "Neither. It was a restructure of our football operations as a result of our review process."
Reminded it had to be either one or the other, Trodden said: "No."

WESTS Tigers have officially opened negotiations to retain star hooker Robbie Farah.
Farah comes off contract after next season and there is speculation he will be chased heavily by Ricky Stuart's Parramatta.
Sacked coach Tim Sheens and Farah fell out over the past three weeks.
In an email to club members yesterday detailing Sheens' departure, chief executive Steve Humphreys also said: "Our captain Robbie Farah is off-contract at the end of next year and you will be pleased to know that the club has already commenced discussions with him about a new deal.''
