I was speaking to a guy at work. He's brother in law to Tim Sheens. He was talking to Sheens last night and said he still filthy they didn't kick it deep on the last against the Warriors.. Said he is looking for a half back who just kicks it on the last that's all.

So I take it Lui will be sacked? And Lui is to blame for Farah running the ball on the last and Benji getting caught with it?

He has a halfback that kicks it… Last time he did it though he kicked it out on the full against the Titans in the 14th minute and wasn't heard from again because Marshall and Farah closed him out of the ball movement for the rest of the game.

No prizes for guessing whom.

Nothing wrong with Lui's long kicking game. Or Miller's for that matter.

Why do we need a half back who can kick it long when we have a five eight who can hoof it with the best of them
To answer Trumpy though the Tigers seem to kick on the fourth tackle often anway
Is he upset cause we kick on the fourth ???
Tell them not to do it or he will shove them on the bench EASY

With respect Willow I reckon both Lui and Farah could do with an extra 10 metres
Hopefully with the added forward grunt in our pack next season Accuracy will be more important than Distance

Well he's had how long to teach them to do it?

Maybe, they have been trying to teach them for months without achieving any increase in the length of their kicks. I have said on this forum for years that our kickers do not appear to have the right technique, but I have been "yelled" down.
Miller seems to kick correctly and LONG!

He can hoof it with the best of them, but …...... then there are the miss-kicks.

MM I'm guessing you aren't referring to the Saints semi when we scored of Benji's miskick
We would have to have the worst record of any team kicking out on the full

and for NOT kicking out on the full - When we have a penalty - although they did rectify that somewhat in season 2011 - however we only ever seemed to make 10m on touchline kicks.

Yeah agree Underdog That really annoys me as well
We get a chance to get in a really strong attacking position and then we only find 10 metres and instead of being in the red zone tackle 3,4,5 and 6 It takes an extra tackle or two to get there
Then again with the Tigers anywhere on the field can be the red zone

I really doubt that Sheens will base his choice of new half-back on one sloppy play in one game. Five-eighths are better positioned to hoof the ball anyway, and Benji's quite capable in that area.

Our kicking game in general is and always has been poor.

When we kick it long it always finds the fullback on the full, and when it doesnt find the fullback on the full its because the kick is long enough to get there on the full.

Even with our short kicking game, we hardly ever put a bomb up. I would think putting a bomb up in the attacking 40m is more effective then putting a dab kick in that bounces once or twice. A bomb puts the fullback under pressure and probably more importantly, allows the chasers time to come through and immediately make a tackle when the fullback does catch it.

Benji's grubber kicks in behind the winger can be a bit predictable as well.
