SHEENS WRAPS LUI

People that are Lui fans seem to feel they have been vindicated over the first 2 rounds and they are clearly right that he is the number choice. People have been talking about how great he has played.
I think he has improved, and has run the ball strongly, but i think he is still a mile away from being an excellent half.
The canterbury game, everyone is unanimous that our kicking was poor and we were disorganised, as half back Lui is responsible for some of that. He also came up with 2 crucial errors, one sent us from being right on the attack to a try to the bulldogs, the other a turnover just after we got back within in 4 with 5 mins left, that indirectly led to a bulldogs try. Altho he ran strongly and made a line break. Overall i think it is a pass mark at very best (in fact i think it was below standard)

Against the warriors he was better than average, but by no means outstanding. He has loads of potential, but he has done nothing to sway my opinon that Moltz is the better option.

Im a moltz fan, but based purely on what I ahve seen, I dont know him or anything, I just really like him as a footballer. I also rated Lui in the 20's, but dont feel he has made the transition as well as others. I reckon if Moltz was playing 20's in 09 he would have looked like a genius as well, but he was playing FG

I hope Lui continues to improve and perform, but Im along way from saying Lui is awesome and all you guys are right he so much better than Moltzen, cause as far as I concerned it is just not true

:master: I can add nothing except…EXACTLY.....

I agree with Goose as well. Lui looks likely. He isn't there yet.

Moltzen also looks like a top prospect - maybe he is a better option than Lui atm. I think that Moltzen given time could also be a quality fullback.

On individual Skill as a footballer, Moltzen is way ahead of Lui…

On individual Talent as a 7, Lui leaves Moltzen for dead...

Wrong Lui is a 5/8 like Benji….......he needs someone ie FARAH feeding him the ball to be destuctive...

He's a natural ball playing 5/8….and still is....Benji at 1st reciever often giving it to Lui.
Dont you blokes watch the games?

LOL….and I thought Geo had comprehension problems.

Please point out where I typed either "Farah" or "hooker"

We are talking about Robert Lui watty

Hey…we have been on the same wavelength for a while ..INNK

Robbie Lui is playing his best footy when he receives the ball from Farah or Benji.......

The pass Benji got to put Lawrence in was from Heighington not Lui.....

Lets see Watto figure that out...

Well you didn't, but you used a stupid example to justify your point… Summarizing your post, you feel Lui is playing 5/8 because Benji passed him the ball 5 times last week???

I feel Robert is developing into a good 7\. In today's game, I don't believe the 7 is a True Halfback, but more of a ball-playing distributor within the ruck. Fundamentally, this role is by far different to a 5/8 and while Benji may push his 7 wider from time to time, it's more about Benji, not positional structure.

Robert also excels in straighten up defenders, either 1 or 2 wide, and then uses his line runners is another example how a 7 needs to play in the NRL these days.

Many confuse clubs who play a 6 either side of the ruck as what we are playing, but Sheens stopped that mid last year. We now have a 7!!!

Keyword watty…."natural"

Sheens is manafacturing a half out of a natural 5/8

I dont know how many times he was at 2nd reciever, glad you counted...but when he is he's playing 5/8

As Sheens has often said, the numbers on the back mean little

Halves ( 6 & 7) changed when we went to the 10m rule
