SHORT TURN AROUND WILL HELP SIDE

Wests Tigers centre Chris Lawrence says the short turnaround from last Sunday’s golden point loss to South Sydney may be a blessing ahead of Friday night’s clash with Brisbane at Allianz Stadium.

“It is the type of thing you don’t want to be thinking about too much,’’ Lawrence said.

“It took a lot out of us mentally and physically but we have just got to turn ourselves around and get ready for this week.”

Wests Tigers may have just one win to their name but Lawrence insists the morale remains high amongst the players.

“We have still got the belief amongst our squad and our work ethic is still the same. We have been working really hard on doing the little things right at training and I think we showed some positive signs on the weekend,’’ Lawrence said.

“Unfortunately it wasn’t good enough so it means we have to do that little bit extra on the training field so we can hopefully get over the line this week.

“We are putting ourselves under the pump with our mistakes and our poor discipline. I think we have conceded the most penalties out of any other side and our completion rate, if not the worst, then one of the worst. As long as we fix that area up, we have got confidence in our defence.”

Lawrence said all players should feel they are on notice from Head Coach Tim Sheens.

“It is not good to have 4 losses. As soon as you have one loss, you have got to have a look at your own game individually and work out ways you can improve,’’ Lawrence added.

“I think Tim is disappointed like everyone is and frustrated. We are working hard on the little things at training. It is just a few errors and disciplinary things during the game that is letting us down and it is quite frustrating.

“The effort is there and it is evident for everyone to see. Tim has reminded us that nothing has change from the start of the year.

“We have still got confidence in our ability. We have had a few setbacks with injuries and a few losses but as long as we keep working hard and getting things right, when things do click we will bounce back.”

good attitude thats for sure - but i dont understand the part where it says Tim Sheens will put players on notice. As far as I'm concerned this should of been done in February.
