SHOULD THE TIGERS RE SIGN MOLTZEN ?

Despite his shortcomings so far this year, he is our best attacking weapon so if we lose him where does our strike come from? No one else on the park can provide the spark in attack like Moltzen.

You got to be trolling

It is obvious he is going through a form slump. If he finds some of the form of the back end of 2011, then sign him up. If he doesn't, don't. It's pretty simple IMO

When would be the deadline for the decision though? Players understandably like to know where they are heading well in advance so they have managers to sort that out for them, thus there is pressure on the club to make a decision however the club would probably like the scenario you have described Stripes but mightn't have the luxury of time to wait and see how his form pans out therefore could have to make a decision based on his current form. It's a tough one for all concerned but one this is for sure, Moltzen could make it a lot easier by lifting his form rather than leading with his face.

Yes on the right money. Don't forget his versatility to play anywhere in the backline.

I think if the Tigers can get some really good form going, Moltzen will improve out of sight - much like last year. Its really up to him though to step it up.

A form slump implies he's a good player having an ordinary few games. As far as I can see he's an ordinary player who had a few good games at the back end of last season.
Other than those games his form over the rest of his career has been very ordinary.

To me he looks as though he never wants the ball and wont attack it, or when he does he'll run 15m across the field to run his winger under him. If we were talking about the Tim Moltzen from the back end of last year then yes i'd resign him. But the Tim Moltzen i've seen from this year can start packing his bags.

I'm starting to think that Moltzen is a fair weather player When we play well and everyone sets a platform for him he is fine

When we don't ,Tim can't create anything from the back and really lacks confidence at the back

If the club is thinking of him as a fullback , we don't need him Tedesco is the future

Our options at 7 ,Well Miller or Humble are better options at this stage and Anasta in 2013

We have a wealth of outside backs and Moltzen would be way down the list of centres with everyone we have

I just can't see where Moltzen will fit in the whole mix

No hurry, leave the ball in Tim's court.

It's all up to him to perform.

I think softlaw is right with him having a few good games rather than a few bad ones. He was good at fullback towards the back of last year but before and since then he has been below par. With Tedesco and Miller coming through, the only place I could see him would be #14 or NSW Cup as a back up.

He's had the perfect chance to make the #1 his own this year in Tedesco's absence. Now, I will pay that the bloke was playing in three different positions last year and came into good form at the end of the season, but you would think that after turning his back on a three year deal to finish the last year of his current deal at the Tigers without any real guarantee (that has been made public at the very least,) that he will even be offered a new deal, that he would be playing out of his skin right now to bag another contract.

He has shown glimpses of good form this year and looked good against Souths and Penriff. He needs to produce more consistent performances to ensure he is even considered for next year. At this point in time he is far too erratic to play in such a key position.

I would hope for his sake he can turn it around, as it would be sad to see him without a club in 2013.

I agree, with a fully fit side there just isn't any room for him. he isn't big enough to play backrow and one would assume too expensive for the bench or as a depth signing in reggies.

If we get 2/3rds of his contracted funded through 3rd party deals, he will become a cheap option for the bench???

Tauber should be working double overtime to ensure he can provide WT's with the tools to ensure Tim is signed. If he cant and Tim is released ( :roll ), surely Moltzen would be left with no option but to sack Tauber?!

I find it hard to believe that the Tigers would have gone through all that rubbish with St George if Moltzen wasn't going to be offered a contract beyond 2012\. Unless of course Gentle intends on signing him up over in the UK at better money than the Dragons offer was.

So the way I see it he is either with us for a few more years or he is off to the UK.

In any case I think he should be dropped.

Its a Yes from me.

I like Timmy M …... been down on cofidence since the St.George debacle.
Only a matter of time until he becomes his old self again.

Todesco has to be a question mark at first grade level. He could be the next
Billy The Kid or he could be the next Jake Mullaney ...... too early to tell.

I say no,because if he stays he can play as bad as he wants and still be in 1st grade.

For all his faults he is the only real speedster we have, and of course do you think he would have walked away from a three year deal at the dragons and not have a contract for the next three years. No player could be that dumb.He will be their in 2013 for sure

Speedster? He's not slow but he's not super quick. There'd be 3 or 4 players in the NYC team faster than him. Whether he's fastest in the NRL team well perhaps, but unlikely. Lawrence? Benji..? Granted our wingers aren't lightning any more.

And perhaps he is dumb. Or just that he backed himself. He thought he killed it late last year so would kill it again this year and get a contract. But if Teddy was still fit he wouldn't even be playing NRL now. He has no form. Until he can take high balls regulalry he needs to be dropped to NSW cup.. He's such a liability in defence.
