Should Wests Tigers have only one State cup side called West

You cannot combine Matts or Ball kids for the very same geographical-logistic concerns that Ink has stated!!

As Watto also mentioned - these are non-contracted junior reps for their region - and I will add that to rationalise these teams around the first grade structure is both ludicrous & a further assault on the principles of junior rugby league!!!

I disagree. I live in the St George area and I know kids from penrith that play in our comps here and a couple of them are in the rep teams for the Dragons and the Bulldogs as well. Penrith kids for goodness sakes !!

I don't see many benefits in combining Matts and SG Ball. The current system with 2 teams and the WT Cubs seems perfect.

Lets just say we were to merge the 2 NSW Cup teams in 2012\. How many players from our Toyota Cup side are turning 21 in 2012? If it's alot then we won't have room to keep them all in 2012 with only 1 NSW Cup team unless we let go of ALOT of current NSW Cup players. Remember some of these players are late bloomers and with only 1 NSW Cup side the club will have to make some very tough decisions and sometimes they will get it very wrong and let the wrong players go. 2 NSW Cup teams gives us more room to keep alot more players. Remember if Wests Ashfield is funding the Wests Magpies NSW Cup team and Ryde Eastwood Leagues is funding the Balmain Ryde Eastwood Tigers then it isn't costing Wests Tigers any extra money using an extra feeder team.

These are likey kids that have missed reps in Penrith and have gone to play other districts to further their chances….**their** choice.
Not a good idea to **force** travel on our junior players
Its a pointless exercise really
WTs junior development programs have been specifically designed with our two junior bases in mind....its working

This. Penriff has such a large nursery that a lot of talented kids slip through the cracks and go elsewhere. Every region is guilty of it though. Penriff also don't mind poaching promising juniors from other nurseries though.

Everyone in Penriff assumes that one of their favourite "sons" Ryan Girdler is a Penriff local where he was actually brought up through Illawarra juniors.

Providing opportunities for late maturing players isn't important.

What about all the players that turn 21 in 2012? If we have 2 NSW Cup teams then we will be able to keep more of them.

Not after friends MM - just facts mate!!!!!!

My friendships are not borne out of internet forums - and I still rate Geo as a mate regardless!!

I will re-state that I am on your side & believe in the equitable distribution of fringe players across both NSW Cup teams by the way!!!!!

I am just fed up with misinformation & incorrectly apportioned blame!!!!
