#ShowYourStripes in 2021!

The amount of money we lose at the grounds has improved and the break even crowd number is lower than it used to be. One of the traditional grounds is better in this regard than the other.

It will be interesting what happens with the incentives to play at the larger venues now that they won't be competing with each other for content.

How does 12k at Bankwest compare to 12k at LO? any idea?

Well at present we are paid around $100k to play at Bankwest, LO is nowhere near that but is better than it was 5 years ago when we would be losing money still at 12k.

I just can't fathom the thinking of not playing full-time there. It's s lot of money.

I don't know if these deals will still be there now the stadiums are going to be managed by the same body. I think @pawsandclaws1 says we get paid less for lower drawing games at the big stadiums and that he was told that by a board member but I haven't found anything that confirms that and have been told different information. Apologies if someone else said that and it wasn't you @pawsandclaws1

I am concerned about that, but the government are going to be desperate for these big spend on stadiums to have lots of content to justify the spend so the deals will hopefully remain.

They will end. Parra pay rent at Bankwest and as soon as our deal expires so will we. Maybe Mayer want so stupid signing a long deal.

No when our deal ends we negotiate a new deal. ANZ and Bankwest have the same ownership but we can trade off SFSand even LO and CSS.

Because playing there does not equal more $$$. The deals are based on not having lowest drawing games there and the deal is accordingly. Adding 4 x <10k crowd games (potentially) adds cost and not profit.

i'm not sure that Parra pay rent to use Bankwest. I would be very surprised if we were being paid to play there and the Eels weren't. There would be an uproar from the eels if that was the case.

There was, but that was resolved after some negotiation. I believe the negotiation would have involved the eels demanding a similar deal to the Tigers.

I'm not sure that matters that much, as the Dogs and Rabbits have always had similar per game deals as the Wests Tigers. A lot of it is about content for their members and corporates that they sell themselves.

It says the dispute was about how much rent they are going to pay.

Didn’t know that. That strikes me as potentially disastrous. A monopoly on large stadia in Australia’s largest city. Potentially a problem for Tigers and I would suggest that we don’t throw away Leichhardt and Cambo flippantly. Not many realise that a MASSIVE part of the North Sydney Bears going bankrupt (prior to merger) was that they were negotiating with North Sydney Council over rental of NSO. When they signed up for central coast stadium they very publicly told council where to stick NSO (in Sydney papers). When CC stadium wasn’t ready in time (never was going to be) Council tripled NSO rental and it was a contributing factor in them going broke. In these circumstances I feel it’s important to at least retain LO and CSS as a back up option if not a bargaining chip.

It says the dispute was about how much rent they are going to pay.

This one says the issues have been addressed, I doubt they are paying rent but could be wrong.

We'll finally decide on playing full-time at a stadium and the deals will stop.

I am concerned about that, but the government are going to be desperate for these big spend on stadiums to have lots of content to justify the spend so the deals will hopefully remain.

They will end. Parra pay rent at Bankwest and as soon as our deal expires so will we. Maybe Mayer want so stupid signing a long deal.

i'm not sure that Parra pay rent to use Bankwest. I would be very surprised if we were being paid to play there and the Eels weren't. There would be an uproar from the eels if that was the case.

We are not really being paid to play there. It was our ANZ deal transferred to Bankwest which made sense to all parties at the time because it was pre COVID and at the time ANZ was going to be redeveloped

No when our deal ends we negotiate a new deal. ANZ and Bankwest have the same ownership but we can trade off SFSand even LO and CSS.

ANZ, Bankwest and the SFS are all coming under the same management.

Yeah the aligning of stadium management does have me worried.
