Thanks champion @BunganHead Tiger - you've touched something right there. One of my favourite players during my teen age years. In 1975 Trevor was often used as the outside running decoy by Chicka Lockwood. Trevor would make a wide run on the right of Lockwood. Lockwood would dummy to Trevor and flick it inside to Bing Pringle who scored so many tries off it. It was very difficult to defend close to the line. RIP Trevor. Thanks for the memories.

Sorry to hear your sad family news TS. Bing Pringle was my favourite player as well. I had the plastic number 8 stitched onto the back of my Tigers jersey. Neil always seemed to be the second best lock running around in those days. Of course Ron Coote had a mortgage on the Kangaroos jumper. Some of my earliest proper footy memories, with Pringle remaining my favourite to this day.
Lost my younger 57yo cousin that often used to attend such matches with us to a heart attack the other day, which along with Trevor is a reminder of our mortality and that we are all getting closer to it.
I have memories of being at Cumberland on that day sitting on very ordinary wooden benches getting splinters in my backside.More than happy to see you enjoyed one of my posts. I can't recall the number of times I have woken up looking forward to your humorous comedy posts in the ''Things That Make You Laugh'' thread. Keep up the great work.
I do recall venturing to a game at the old Cumberland Oval in 1977. The crowd were Parra manic. They kept referring to their team as The Machine. They had a mean pack. Ray Price, Ray Higgs, Graham Olling, Dennis Fitzgerald and Ron Hilditch. they also had 'The Bomber', John Peard at five eighth.
They led us early but we got our noses in front with a typical Lockwood, Ryan, Pringle try under the posts. From memory we led until about 10 minutes to go. The parochial crowd was stunned into silence. Of course the ref (can't remember who) awarded Parra a penalty. 'The Crow' slotted it from 30 metres. In the dying minutes Parra receive another dubious penalty. This time 40 metres out, 10 in from touch. Of course The Crow kicked it. Broke my heart. Was a fearsome game though.
