Id suggest that there is a heap of bonuses built into the contract and the maximum they can earn is the number that is being thrown around ($400k)

I agree, id be astounded if their base contract is anything like $400k, that is more than most origin players, even with the new increase to the cap

Rowdy when he signed was only 380 k and he was at the top of his game and probably only weeks from becoming a SOO player

Brooks is probably on about 200 k cap money (at a guess )
Moses maybe $100 k and upgraded to 150-180 if he plays x amount of NRL games (again at a guess )

Like I said in my post, $400k… Inventive based.

That's a possible $400k out of our cap... More than likely base would be $150k... Then incentives for amounts of first grade games played etc

For example it looks like brooks may play quote a few more games then Moses this year.

So brooks could be payed almost double what Moses is, but still not meet all requirements to get 100% of his contract.

Even with incentives I just couldn't see them being payed that much. Their contracts were signed before their NRL debuts and all the Brooks hype was only amongst these forums. Unless Brooks contract says $50k per season and if you actually do become the next andrew johns we will bump it to $400k in your 3rd and fourth year

Brooks was massively rated by everyone that matteted.

Brooks and Moses are on big money already. Tim Sheens did a similar thing with the likes of Farah back in 2004\. It's a gamble we had to take to kee the vultures at bay.

Honestly, we dont really know what we have in our stocks yet, for all we know some of the guys who looked average in the Sheens/Bunji era may begin to shine under the Potter regime. Add to that we dont really know what we have in the kids 20 NRL games or less into their careers.

As for signings, I just hope we are shrewd with what we already have, let go those not worth keeping, and if we are to sign a name player, that it be one we need to suit the team, not just for the sake of it.

Our current mob of Woods, Galloway, Blair, Taupau, Ava and Buchanan will do the job, but aren't going to dominate games.

I reckon that is a pretty good list of props. Woods and Galloway could be the NSW SOO props and the others listed there are pretty good back-ups.

As for new signings I think we need to see how the team goes. I think we have the makings of a really good team. We have a good bunch of guys in the forwards and the outside backs however the halves are a complete unknown plus the forwards and backs might not perform. I'd like to see what happens and then go from there.
