Signing News Tomorow

I'm a paying member too. I would say most here are.

And yeah, 2011 is a long time ago in footy terms. I said in another thread that in a 13 year career you could count the good/great seasons hes had on 1 hand. We have been loyal, we have been patient, now he is nearing the end of his sporting career, he does not have the ability to lead and command the money and power he wanted.

So, my answer to you question is yes, we will be better for seeing the back of Benji Marshall.

Not a vital cog? What part of "we upgraded his deal significantly" is being misunderstood? Obviously they still wanted him.

Everything is a risk. But could you tell me your thoughts on Benjis last few years form? Do you think its worth the money being paid, and upgraded? Do you think he would lead us to a top 4 finish playing like he currently is?

Were you not there in 2010 and 2011 …. It's not that long ago.
Yes, he's out of form .... I had a feeling when a new coach came in it would all end like this.

My question to you is are we all the better for seeing the back of Benji Marshall .... The overwhelming majority on this forum agree with you .... For me as a paying member I was hoping he was a Tiger for life .... And I am very sad that he won't be.

would you rather have seen it end with 4 years of the same ol' benji, with the same old mistakes.
the sooner he left, the less harm his rep would get.

the contract benji was offered was based on loyaity and Iam sure whe he knocked it back, after the initial shock they were in fact happy with the result. Gives them the chance to re build the club. Of course the honeymoon will be over mid season 2014,the fans will expect plenty of wins

magic or simply some common sense?

Sorry Bon ,the magic comment was based around his nickname Harry Potter

For the first time we have a coach with his head screwed on properly and that makes the percentage calls and makes the hard decisions

Mayer just tweeted tomorrow would be a good day to check out the web site for announcement if I knew how to post the tweet I would milky?

@gcmayer When Benji is released, will @Wests_Tigers stipulate that he can't play for another NRL club until his current contract expires??

@MadMudgeeTiger that's one option available to us. Board decision later in the week.

@gcmayer thanks Grant. Enjoying what you have done so far. Refreshing approach to both recruitment and communication.

On a side note, his Twitter is one of the best I have ever seen - he's really getting down to the ground level with the fans here - even posting his office number publicly! It's really top quality stuff.

One of the most transparent guys ive ever seen in this kind of scene - after just reading his twitter I want to keep him on as CEO.

https://twitter.com/gcmayer

Funny how when I reached out to him through Twitter all of a sudden he became super active grassroots style. No need to thank me lol

@rockjobtiger let's hope it all comes to an end shortly. **Retention focus right now. Good back ups floating around but restricted by cap**.

Another reason why Benji is leaving could be because his not on same coin as Robbie

He doesn't deserve to be. One plays wholeheartedly for 80 minutes every week and the other plays halfheartedly for 80 minutes every week. There is the difference.

I can reveal the news here….

We are bringing back our other grand final winning winger, he will replace Benji at five-eight.

Mate, he is 1 of the 4 Club Legends (Fitzy, Benji, Robbie, Skando)
