Guess we can always stick with nice guys who cant catch.

Exactly how serious does the offence have to be before we cant sign a player? If they're caught speeding can we sign them? Theft? J walking?

bashing a woman at a wedding,s bad enough.

Personally I draw the line at wife beaters. If you don't, you should be ashamed of yourself.

personally I am sick of all the do gooders on this forum , who only want snow white players. It would be a different story if other club did not sign them, so why the hell should we miss out all the time.

Your happy with wife beaters at the club?Do gooders? :crazy And if he reoffends in our colours(wife beating) how will our "currently" tarnished image look then.

Because we have standards? I'd rather lose than win with scumbags like this guy, sorry if that makes me a 'do gooder'. Spousal abuse is an absolute scourge in our society, and I'd rather associate myself with an institution which takes a stand against it than one which doesn't. It's perfectly possible to have a winning NRL team which doesn't contain any wife beating scumbags, and that's the team I want to support.

Let's be honest.
How often does a player with bad behaviour actually tarnish the image of their club?

Very rarely.

Most of the time it's their own reputation they are damaging. Not that of the club they play for.

I'm not friends with anyone who has been convicted of assaulting a woman. If I found out any of my friends had, they wouldn't be my friends any more. Fortunately I've got plenty of friends who haven't ever been convicted of assaulting women, so I reckon I'm ok.

Again, we're not talking about getting nicked for having a punch up at the pub, here - the guy violently assaulted his ex-partner. The original question was 'where do you draw the line?' As I said: I draw it at wife beating. There you go.

Cowboys - Lui. Ok, the mainstream media may pretend nothing ever happened with Lui but there are plenty of people who think the Cowboys are a stone-cold disgrace for signing him (and, lest we forget, recalling him to the team - twice! - on Women in League round).

Would you get sack this guy from the team - or give him a chance to redeem himself? Personally I would give him a chance to redeem himself. I personally know of one person who at 19 years of age was caught by police for stealing but has now very completely turned his life around.

A Wests Tigers youth footballer is among three men charged with armed robbery after a spate of petrol station raids this month. Charlton Schaafhausen, of Chipping Norton, has been accused with fellow 18-year-olds Mark Tuala and Alonzo Faaoloii of 12 armed robberies between October 7 and last Wednesday.
The alleged offences all occurred the early morning at petrol stations in suburbs including Campbelltown, Minto, Bonnyrigg, Cabramatta and Green Valley. In each case the three accused men wore balaclavas and carried crowbars. In response to the offences NSW Police launched Strike Force Abase and arrested the trio on Friday morning as they approached a 7/11 petrol station in Casula.

The teenagers had crowbars and a replica handgun and police allege the trio were about to rob the service station. When interviewed by police, the three men allegedly made admissions of guilt and identified themselves on allegedly incriminating CCTV footage. Search warrants executed on the men's homes allegedly resulted in seizures by police.

Parramatta Bail Court heard on Saturday Mr Schaafhausen, a renderer, had no criminal record and had recently been selected to play for the Wests Tigers NRL team. Magistrate John Bailey refused bail, stating the gravity of the offences and overwhelmingly strong prosecution case made prison time a near certainty.
Mr Schaafhausen will remain in custody to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday.
Mr Tuala and Mr Faaoloii did not apply for bail and will appear on the same day.

I supposed you know everything about your neighbours, workmates and other associates as well.

I dont care what they do to be honest…they play footy, thats my only interest in these blokes....if you wanna soak up all the goss from the tabloids about their movements ts 24/7....then you'll be bound to be disappointed.

I can understand kiddies finding it difficult to seperate their football and everything else they do....its not to difficult for an adult,.

The world is a very bad place full of people that do bad things...unfortunately we cannot seperate ourselves from them all at all times, its impossible

Greg Inglis also beat his partner.
Hypothetically, if he was offered to you to play for WT for $100k a year would you take him?

The fact is rugby league is a physically violent sport that does happen to attract some elements of society that most people in the community find vulgar, uncouth, feral and downright criminal….it has always and will always be that way.
Maybe croquet or badminton is more in tune with some members philosophies

Pettybourne was good playing within the big Souths pack, but ended up a being dud when he came here. I fear the same thing would happen with players like McQueen, Lowe or whoever else we have in mind to sign. The Souths pack is a well oiled machine that runs on the foundation of the Burgess brothers' incredible go forward - it's a lot easier for the players around them to look good running off the back of that momentum. Our go forward is a completely different story. I like McQueen, but I'm not so sure he would be anywhere near as effective playing within our pack.

Oh, and if by some miracle we end up snaring a Burgess brother, you can bet your life it would end up being the fringe first grader, Luke lol.

Regardless of how good a player one may be, I am loathe to have any women hitter as part of my team, Inglis obviously included and at any rate.

And yes, I am a do gooder. I'm also quite happy to cop a hit or two (and have) to stop anyone from doing it, in public or otherwise.

McQueen is hardly dynamic and my opinion is we don't need to use our cap on him. It is not difficult for a forward to look top class when he is playing in a forward pack such as Souths have had for the past two years. By the way I haven't yet checked whether he has a record of any law infringement notices served by police. I do know however that he was playing with a star fullback who had a doubtful record.

my issue with McQueen is that he is covered with tats; we are a football club not a motorcycle gang, how dare he contemplate putting on the black gold and white jersey with those tats!
