Those stats dont tell the full story. Ben is one of the game's premier hitmen. When on form he intimidates rival packs. This aids the other forwards in defending as ball runners are wary of aiming towards him making them easier targets. He carries the ball strongly as well.

We really need an intimidating forward, hope he is the guy we need.

I don't necessarily agree with that. He was pretty good starting off with Sheens and then was ok under Potter too. Taylor clearly never liked him very much so had him in reserves last year whilst persisting with dead weight like Lovett and Lawrence. Manly came after Sironen pretty hard and he's been great for them all year. If they could see the potential there why couldn't Taylor and Co? And he's only 23 so he has a bright future ahead.

We shouldn't have let him go.

Don't see what he's done that's so special. Besides, you can write a never ending list of players who have gone to new clubs and gotten a new lease of life and looked like a different player. That's the game. No fault of their old club, sometimes players need a change of scenery to click. He had too much expectation here.

Agree and the willingness of Manly to back the ability of their coaching staff to get the best from Curtis must be applauded. As for JT, how he is going with his new coaching role?

Exactly, JT should have at least put him in first grade, he had plodders like Rankin, Lovett and co every week. Siro ran good lines and had decent defence, he looked unfit or disinterested, probably due to being thrown out of the team while plodders incorporated kept their spots every week.

The plodder that kept his spot was Curtis. He was a bludger.
Curtis was running on his dad's name alone. He is nothing special.

Didn't we want accountability? Siro had years of coasting without consequence but we're bagging the former coach for dropping him. Seems pretty convenient .
