They’re turning into the Titans. They used to try and sign everyone on the market. Newcastle have taken that mantle. Greedy grubs.

Theyve made a couple of good signings in Ramien and Glasby, good luck to them but they obviously are in need of a rebuild.

Kyle Turner is another souths player who didnt see much first grade this year. Maguire may be looking at him.

I always liked Turner but they tried to turn him into a prop and he has a significant injury history. After McQueen,?

Think he has/had serious neck injury issues if memory serves me correctly

He wears the same sort of neck brace that Tate used to wear. He still playing but I'm not sure if the brace is a necessity or just a reassuring thing.

Just read an article about it, Brent Tate told him to get the brace. Now he can't imagine playing without it.

Wests Tigers coach Micheal Maguire is wasting no time. Playmaker Luke brooks is set to sign a new 3 year deal with the club with a 4th year option rejecting any interest from the Sydney Roosters.

The Wests Tigers are also very interested in signing Parramatta Eels second rower Manu Mau and South Sydney Rabbitohs prop Zane Musgrove for season 2019.

This is where it becomes interesting, utility Elijah Taylor is being shopped around to the New Zealand Warriors and the Newcastle Knights and Chris McQueen has been told to look elsewhere for 2019.

^^^^^ Could be ET. The same rumour that said we were signing Musgrove and re-signing Brooks said ET was being linked to Newcastle and the Warriors. I love the guy but I don’t think there is a place for him. And he’s a better bargaining chip and easier to shop around than McQueen and Rochow.

One of our better players who would be on ok coin.
And be a good fit with someone like the sharks or Souths.
I feel bad for him, It would not surprise me if he went to Penrith.

Also, if he does get injured, Gamble is not the answer. And I’m not basing that on his first grade debut. I watched him all year. He was average at best. Marshall any day of the week in my opinion.

Reynolds never impressed me throughout his career. Yes he tries but between him and Benji I've seen less sideway movement from a crab.

I wouldn't care if Reynolds was on 500k. But 750k is just a waste of money.

to true, we have plenty of player in ISP who have the entire 2019 season to improve and impress madge, once farah and benji are gone there will be room

I mean you seem to be trying to make a case for keeping a guy who played his best football some 13 years ago. 14 years come next season.

Oh cool I get you. No I totally agree his best days are behind him and playing week to week is too much. But filling in as a back up every so often is something he can do well. What I was getting at is that a tired and past his best Benji is still significantly better than Tyson Gamble. If we can sign another back up half, then great, get rid of Benji. But right now he's the best we've got for the back up role.

Gamble is a wildcard. nothing more nothing less. In 2019 he could be a better option than Benji, we dont know at this stage.

What i do kind of know though is that Benji Marshall will not be better in 2019 than he was in 2018\. Its time to look to the future..

I struggle to imagine Gamble ever becoming a better option than Benji. But i've been wrong plenty of times before.

I wouldn't have Gamble to far behind Benji. Benji had a poor season and was as rocks and diamonds as always. Gamble is similar but 10 years younger. Gamble 6 is a natural playmaker whereas Benji isn't. Gamble needs to work on his defence, but so did benji for the first decade of his career. I don't see anything that benji did in 2018 that Gamble couldn't potentially do in 2019.
People seem to forget Gamble made his debut in our worst performance of the season, where every single player was atrocious. And he was played out of position at halfback for 2/3 of the ISP season after Drinkwater left. He's no organising halfback, but that's ok.

Otherwise who knows maybe young Jock Madden is a roughie. Newcastle offered him a spot in their top 30 for 2019 yet he decided to join us outside our 30\. He's got talent but will likely be too small for grade in 2019.

I agree totally on Gamble. I watched quite a bit of him in ISP this year. He started the year well playing off the creativity of Drinkwater. As soon as Drinkwater headed off to Catalan he was on his own and struggled big time. As the year went on he went further into his shell and was actually terrible by the end of the season. Kudos to him for two clutch field goals to win games at the end of the year but that was about all he offered in those games.
