I wonder why St George are moving him on. I hear he's a bit of a lair, but they brought him to grade with lots of fanfare this year. I would have thought they'd have tried to keep him and work on him, even if he's a bit small.

Pretty surprised by the hate for Benji. He's nowhere near the player he was but i'm not sure we have much better. Reynolds didn't exactly shoot the lights out when he played any significant minutes and Gamble's debut was painful to watch.

The harsh reality is that we didn't win a game last year when Benji wasn't 5/8… We were 12-9 when he played...

According to the rumours Dufty is asking for way too much for an extension and they’re concerned about his size. They’re looking at Hayne hence they’re prepared to move Dufty on now.

We'd be mad if we don't have a crack at him, he's got great hands, super fast, a very illusive runner, and very hard to handle / tackle. Not sure how much he's after .. but I'd say yea .. !!

I dont mind Dufty
Size has nothing to do with it IMO
Do the names Langer Toovey Hodgson ring a bell
All great players and all small
You work to your strengths
His small size and electric speed make him hard to catch if given a little room
If he could exploit tired defense a little more especially the big forwards towards the end of the games he might cross that line more often than not
Question is if his head is in the right place and does he get on with his team mates

Not sure where to play him other than fullback if he can tackle well enough
But that means moving Mbye in with Brooks
I think that could work
But hey it's only my opinion

Canberra Raiders fullback Jack Wighton has been handed a suspended two-month jail sentence and a $3500 fine for a drunken assault at a nightclub earlier this year.

Wighton pleaded guilty in June to five counts of assault and one charge of public urination.

I want Jack Whighton at the Tigers, so was reluctant to watch the footage, but did so.

I'll say this, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but still a dog act on all counts. Young man with with too much grog under his belt and his swagger suggests he was on an ego trip. One of those ones where you just wish the aggressor / bully got owned by one of the other fellas.

I can live with it if he was to be signed. Seen much worse many times out and about. They weren't exactly full blown punches or king hits. Hopefully he learns a lesson.

P.S. There has to be an argument for fines to be based on earnings, because $3,500 wouldn't really sting him. Did the Raiders fine him at all?

The Raiders didn’t fine him but the NRL came over the top and imposed a $30k fine.

Fines are a crappy deterrent for drunken, violent crime. That part of the court imposed penalty is fairly useless, would’ve been better imposing a community service component.

on the sports breakfast this morning it was stated that duffy was really on the nose with his team mates, no reason given, but he most of done something bad i guess.

Recruiting another fullback would be ludicrous unless it’s a clear upgrade as Mbye started as a centre and could cover.

Jack Wighton after reviewing the nothing footage is the better play for the Tigers.
He can fight it out with Mbye for fullback and the loser is the left centre. They both started as centres and played there in the juniors.

Where did the Wighton to Tigers rumour come from? I can't remember reading it anywhere.
