Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The Cini highlights remind me of watching Kalyn Ponga highlights. Different skills but the same just absolute domination and way of making it look so easy.

Cini as a development contract means he can be called up past June 30 with the new rules?
Good acceleration and footwork. Promising prospect.

is he 18 years of age?

I actually don't believe this is quite right. Cini's development contract starts in 2020, but he starts playing for the club in 2019; I assume he's going to play Jersey Flegg. I don't think Cini is subject to the development allowances until 2020\. We signed him from the Penrith junior system.

Cini is 18 right now - he's on tour with the Schoolboys in the UK. All of those games are being posted on youtube, look up the Australian Schoolboys LEAGUE Facebook page for the links. This is also being discussed in another thread, because 2 of our other development players are in the same SB side.

2019 development players are:
Alex Seyfarth - came from Tigers Flegg
Jock Madden - picked up from Newcastle and current Aussie SB 5/8th
Tommy Talau - son of Willie, signed from Bulldogs - also in the touring SB side
Kane Bradley - signed from St George SG Ball

Yeah it looks like he's signed for 3 years from 2019 but only commences as a development player in 2020, so unless something changes we won't be seeing him until the second half of 2020 at the absolute earliest. Someone to keep an eye on in the lower grades though for sure.

maybe cini , should be starting in the ISP , plenty of players have been 18 and played 1st grade, brasher, mitchell are just a couple, we could do with a player with a step and speed.

I would say it's off topic but I'm not even sure what the topic is these days haha.

Thankfully we didn't chase Shaun Johnson. What a toss. For anyone who hadn't read it he talked about the move to Cronulla was not about money, if he wanted money he would of stayed at the Warriors. Um sorry mate but they told you they were not resigning you. So a 3 year 3m contract compared to a final year at the warriors worth a mill seems to be about money to me. He goes on about wanting to win a premiership. He was a mill dollar player who couldn't even get the warriors into the finals on a regular basis, how can he go on about moving to a club that can win a premiership?

Sharks have made a big mistake with this signing and I'm glad we did not go anywhere near him.

I think you are allowed to have up to 6 development players, but are limited in the amount you can spend on them.

If he is good and any chance of playing this season, they could upgrade him

That's fair enough.

Wow he has lightning acceleration. Brilliant highlights reel!

He has what great players have,, which is the will to get into position to back up a break and score (like Terry Lamb).

Reminds me of a fast and evasive Ross Conlon..

Watch the games with Tommy Talau who to me has much more to offer than N. Cleary. Big, good pace, passing and kicking plus he is forceful and has that priceless ability to make the correct decisions in defence. I think we will see him in the NRL in the not too distant future. Madden also looks a prospect and he reminds of Brooks.

Just looked up Talau. Apparently bulldogs supporters are spewing they lost him a few months ago. Always a good sign..

Maybe scratch this guy as a possibility…

Credit to the clubs recruitment policies and due diligence.

I would have been happy with either Hayne or Dylan Walker. Thankfully we avoided that mess.

His sister probably got stuck into him haha

Manly are going to be ordinary this year. Love it.

Cini cannot play First Grade until he is 18\. He will play Flegg and train with the First Grade squad next off season.

According to the paper he already is 18?
