Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

There was no deal done….not sure how we can be sanctioned for this. Greenberg just wants to show how tough he is and will use us as an example again. No way would they poke a big club in The eye like this.

They are angry because Farah has not accepted the deal and it has had no influence on their salary cap. Their only mistake was not declaring it to the NRL — because they didn’t know they had to.

What sort of kangaroo court does the nrl think it is?

MEANWHILE:
Cronk, Tedesco, Keary, Cordner, Mitchell, JWH & Friend are all at the one club. Lol and they’re worrying about a “agreement” that hasn’t eventuated.

One that punishes perceived "lesser" clubs but wouldnt even consider going after their "favoured" clubs. Its all honest and fair in the NRL just ask them

Melb got stripped of premierships didn't they? Sharks are gonna have their coach suspended again aswell.
We cheated, got caught, will cop a punishment like the others did.

Exactly.

This is how the current NRL operate. Its a governing body who are there to oversee the success of the successful clubs.

Corrupt.

This is a prime example of grinbug trashing the NRL. How to piss off lots of NRL supporters in one go. Find a team with a big supporter base, but little political power, and sanction them for something they might have done but didn't because they failed to report that they might have done it. Onya grinbug.

re Jennings.
He would be a great signing. Were missing a good ball playing Center with Marsters a defensive Center and Fonua inconsistent with Paul M Untested. But we can leave that open and see who steps up.

We have Mbye, Thompson and Nofo who can do Wing/Fullback. Perhaps Fonua can do wing as well (seems to be better as a center). Adding Jennings gives the backline Depth and would allow either Thompson or Mbye to be that off the bench/utility player.

My preference, put Jennings on the wing, move Thompson to Fullback and see if Parra will pay overs for Mbye! (Ok I don't like Mbye. No idea why we chased him hard and not Hopoate? Yet he hasn't stuffed up yet).

You don't like Mbye - Play Thompson full back - that'll do me!

To accommodate the signing of Robert Jennings.

Off season. . . .

So…...... get rid of a bloke who hasn’t stuffed up yet
That’s as crazy as getting fined for a breach that didn’t actually occur............oh

I thought Mbye went really well at fullback in 2018\. He could even improve on that in 2019 and isn't on big dollars. There isn't too many players in the NRL I'd replace him with. Thompson is good back up for fullback.
Jennings would be a good pick up. Can play centre or wing. He was in good form in 2018 and is only young. He a lot of upside.

A bit harsh there I have read nothing where the club has CHEATED the salary cap ! please point us to the facts as you seem to know the details.

How did we cheat - unless there is evidence that Farah accepted the role in exchange for a reduced amount to play then no wrong doing has occurred. Wests are saying Farah never accepted the offer and therefore there was nothing to declare. When he went to Souths he was paid his full contract amount which would suggest what Wests are saying is correct. So either Wests are lying and there is evidence he accepted or the NRL are trying to show everyone how tough they are with no shred of evidence.

I agree, Mbye played well at fullback last year.
Personally I’d chase Dufty as a specialist fullback who can turn a game with his lightning feet and move Mbye into the centres - then we’d be in overdrive .. this would address our pace issue.
