Who are all of our props? I honestly don’t usually care about who other teams recruit etc but looking at teams like the Knights and GC Titans, even they seem to have some great depth in that department.
Knights have Klemmer, the Saifitis, Glasby, Gavet, Ese Ese, King & Sami. Then the Titans have Stockwell, Whitbread, Wallace, Latu, Boyle, Fotuaika, James & Boyd.

Props we have Packer, Matulino, Twal, Eisenhuth, Clark, Mikaele and Musgrove
second row, Lawrence, Matterson, Taylor, Garner, McQueen, Rochow, Aloiai and Mcintyre

I see a lot of backrowers and not a lot of props.

Musgrove won't be playing with us, Clark and Mikaele are unproven at NRL level. That leaves only 4 first grade standard props, which are the same as last year minus Sue & Grant. Slim pickings indeed! Better hope one of or both Mikaele and Clark turn into superstars.

Can anyone explain these figures to me?

Norman – who had one year to run on his Eels contract worth around $900,000 – farewelled the Parramatta players last week but his St George Illawarra move was prolonged because of a disagreement over a payout.

The 27-year-old wanted an extra $20,000 and threatened to stay on at Parramatta until hisIt appears Norman won't get the money he was chasing, however, with the Eels refusing to provide a cent more than $250,000 towards his Dragons contract in 2019.

The Telegraph claims the Dragons will pay Norman $500,000 next season alongside Parramatta's quarter-million dollar contribution, meaning Norman is on significantly less coin than he would have received at Parramatta.

The Saints will then fork out $1.6 million over the final two years of Norman's deal. next pay cycle on January 4 to claim the additional funds before moving on.

Has Norman taken a pay cut for the Saint George deal to be legit?
He still stands to earn close to $800,000 a season for the next 3 years.

The League Pay year starts in October I believe so by the end of 2018 Norman would have already been paid 1/4 of the 900k or 225k + parr’s are paying 250k. So the figures are about right. STG Pay the difference which is about 500k.

Saints will be in deep trouble going forward I rate Norman but the team culture could be a problem + he’s then in big money like Hunt.

I have to believe the premiership victory is tainted now. That he was awarded the Sharks' coach of the half century is a reflection on the values of the club.

Wow 225k just for turning up to a months worth of training!
Thanks for clearing that up!

How are the nrl going to police this ongoing? Basically any club that hires a recently retired player could be perceived as cheating. Some moron at our club has obviously put it in writing…,

and continually talked to the media about it.

A real slap in the face for 5 time premiership winner Jack Gibson

In fairness to the sharks, Gibson couldn’t get them a premiership, or even close to one.
He actually said waiting for Cronulla to win a premiership, is like leaving the porch light on for Harold Holt

No wonder they cheated lol, If Gibson can't get you a premiership it really is the only option.

Agreeing to give a guy a job after he retires playing NRL. Didn't know that was an offence.
Why can teams sign players for years in advance and nothing from the NRL is said about it.
Fair enough if Robbie is still playing then we give him another job paying that much money, then I would see an issue.
But if the guy is no longer taking the field, who is it hurting???

The question is, from which account is the money to pay for Robbie's new job coming from?

I get their point. It's silly but I get their point.

I was reading how the Storm signed Adrian Morley (?) ages ago. He was coming near the end of his contract with 1 year left. , and really should have finished at the UK or something. But Melbourne had to pay out his contract. As he had a Year left and for what ever reason wasn't able to play with them.

So they made him "fire and safety inspector". The guy was bored crazy for a year while he got 6 figures to stand around the office.

Now that is what the NRL are worried about with Robbie. We sign him for 2 years and he plays for 2 years. So what.
But if we sign him for 2 years, with an agreement that he is a "club mascot" earning 6 figures for 4 years after that…. well that's us throwing a bit extra outside the cap. Not cool.
All we have to do to avoid this is wait till Robbie retires, then hire him as a club mascot. DONE.

Wow if you thought we had coaching issues, the below would be an absolute nightmare.
Imagine if your choice was between these:
"It is unclear who would replace Flanagan, with assistant coaches John Morris, Jim Dymock and former Manly coach Trent Barrett mooted. "
Jim Dymock, awesome guy but Nope. Bringing in Barrett would be their best option, but I bet the players will want John Morris…. Oh Sharks you are going to have fun.

It looks like this thread may need to be locked up. After today's NRL announcement the club is unlikely to have enough money to sign another player for at least another year. There is of course the chance that the club could win it's appeals against the NRL decisions but that will take quite some time. All because the NRL wants to flex it muscle on an honest club. I feel for every Wests Tigers supporter.

After today's event Id say the rumour mill for us signing players for 2019 will be rather non existent.

In all likelihood the club will need to release players and replace them with cheaper options. Thread stays open :bawling

Based on this logic Tim Sheens is the best ever coach of the NQ Cowboys.

Seriously how are we the team the NRL finds guilty of cheating the cap.

Newcastle
Roosters
Melbourne
Sharks
Dragons
Brisbane

If they are all doing it by the book I’ll piss milkshakes.

Greenbergs a dog and if we get stripped of points and lose Pascoe and no other teams are found guilty of cap fraud my days of watching league are done.

Yea i amjust about done with this circus , the tigers have NOT rortedthe cap in anyway here,Greenberg and his mob should go after the real cheats , but they however are too important to his plans , I Dont think the Tigers will be around too long in their current status
