Rumour on LU that ET as been asked to look elsewhere from Maguire as he wants a bigger player at lock

If true, maybe we see Twal at 13? Not sure who we could sign this late in the off season and with our current cap penalties.

I have no idea if there is any truth to the rumour or not but at souffs Maguire did like to have big boppers in his pack

Reckon were going for a Burgess?

We have hired Luke Burgess as a trainer. Souths have resigned Cook, so their cap should be reasonably locked up with Ingles, Johnson, Reynolds, Dane Gagai, etc.

I hadn't heard about Luke Burgess coming on board. Any other changes in the coaching/ training staff?

Forum members already death riding Madge and have decided on the type of play the team will be playing …I wish I had that crystal ball

Pat Richards is on board too isn't he?

Pat Richards should come out of retirement. Who’s with me?

I'd love just to see his kick offs again.
Or one of his magic field goals!
And maybe that try from '05!
You're right DT, we need a Pat in the team - if only!?!?

Was just looking at supercoach. Robert Jennings is no longer on the Souths team, he’s on the Tigers page! Anyone know or hear something about this?

Was mentioned by someone else as well earlier 😕

100% except his Knee is bung and he can't play.

What I liked about Pat Richards is he was a GAME CHANGER.
Everyone expected the kick to come from the Half or the 5/8\. As we approached 5th tackle we would throw the ball to the wing and we would see some very long kicks (some 40/20's) coming in a direction that people did not expect.
He worked the fullback, because he would normally kick either to the center or all the way across the field.
Some of his try assists were absolutely insane.

damnit JT. I get what you were trying to do. Have the Tigers play normally so that we can advance the ball in a logical fashion and not depend on a flash winger or 5/8 to score our tries. Yet I feel that you would Bench Damien Cook because he wouldn't be playing the ball from dummy half normally. We as a team will never outspine or outplay everyone by playing conventional football McGuire I hope will toughen us up but will also know when to MIX IT UP.

IMHO the flick pass can be forgotten. It was just a no look pass. Sure a great try but nothing extraordinary and really Benji's effort.

I remember Benji facing off a Goliath front rower Cowboy. He kicks the ball over the front rower's head, catches his own kick and scores a try. – Honestly from the 2005 final that is the moment I remember.

Worry about a coach that wants to adjust the team to his philosophy rather than working with what he has.

I have always thought ET would be better on an edge, but he has been used to prop up weak spots in our roster.

Maguire going back to a game plan that was found out years ago is a concern. I don’t think he will see out his contract.

I wouldn't worry too much about a coach who wants to adjust a team that hasn't been making the finals.

Hallelujah if true! Big aggressive locks are the thing now and most clubs have one, but it's where we've been lacking. The days of small, tackling machine Alan Tongue type locks are over.

Big aggressive locks giv e me a break. None of them could compete with Ron Coote, John Raper, Jim Leis, Wayne Pearch or Bing Pringle. This is what is wrong with rugby league, we have prop forwards masquerading as locks because of the rule changes and interchange laws. Reduce the interchange to 4 and we will see the return of the very mobile, high work rate running lock forwards.

Hopefully ET is nowhere near our top 17.
He's well and truly past it, provides zero

I would suggest in this new year might want to post about players you do like and add value to the Wests Tigers…oh..

Yes we do need some speed however this just reaffirms to me we need some size even more. Interesting PCM stats with Melb Storm though.
https://www.nrl.com/news/2019/01/09/stat-attack-the-post-contact-kings-of-2018/
But according to NRL.com Stats, the top eight teams for earning PCM features just five sides that made the finals, with the 12th-placed Bulldogs second-best and grand final runners-up Melbourne down in 15th…................................................
Interestingly the Roosters were at the wrong end of the ladder for PCM conceded, letting in 525 per game – level with the Tigers as the most in the NRL.

Edit: Oops didn't realise the PCM Stats didn't post. Also, a sentence was omitted stating the teams below us for PCMs have improved their sides.
