Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Your kidding right

Taumalolo would put a metre in the 1st 5 over Klemmer easily

That's the big difference , he is so much more better laterally than Klemmer

I'm OK with people thinking Newcastle will do OK. I personally think they have recruited well and will make the 8\. Got enough class in that roster to get them there.

I agree CB. Poor old Newcastle have struggled just like us and their loyal fans have had to endure weak seasons. I dont mind Newcastle and at least things appear to be turning around for them. It would be great to see teams like WTs and the Knights make the 8, with teams like the Dragons and Roosters missing out.

And their fans always turned up. Loss after loss they kept walking through the gates to get behind their team.

They deserve a good season more than most.

Sue only played with mongrel when he felt like it, which wasn't all that often. The addition of Matterson and Musgrove (if he is allowed to play) will help, but I also feel we are still a bit light on in the forwards.

Both Packer and Matulino will have to take it up quite a few notches on last year's form to be of any real benefit - the lack of go forward from them was really unacceptable for first grade standard props.

It appears that we are pinning our hopes on youngsters like Mikaele & Garner stepping up and having a great impact in the top grade - let's hope they can.

Twal is already a good prospect and will only improve further under Madge, imo. I'd like to see him play at lock, we need a big strong body there and I think he could make that position his own.

We will find out soon how much of that was coaching and how much it was players form.

I think we will see more from our forwards this season. We were playing Ivan ball last year and it was obvious we were only focused on defence and keeping our forwards as fresh as possible. Very little movement off the ball and just mainly hitups from the backs all game. No surprise we had horrible attacking stats in 2018.

Correct Tweed .. a Madge game will far different to that of Ivan .. Madge concentrates on more physical attacking style with bigger fitter mobile forwards like he did with Souffs .. so hopefully he will turn our forwards around into a more formidable pack this season.

Strange Maguire didn't do that at St Helens when he took them to the ESL premiership..was smaller mobile forwards yes with bodies in motion same plan recently with the New Zealand test side…go figure...

Still going to come down to field position and how we defend as a whole unit

If we can defend far better as a unit and make the first contact count our forwards will have far more energy to help the back 3

We can't rely on scattergun defence like last season it just takes too big a toll over a season

Just thinking about Musgrove. So, the NRL has decided not to register his contract due to the court proceedings, yet won't stand down De Belin as he is innocent until proven guilty. I realise it is easier to put Musgrove's contract on hold until he has had his day in court that it would be to stand down De Belin, but once again it's double standards and inconsistency from the NRL. If it's good enough for one player to have the presumption of innocence, then why isn't that the case for all?

The answer to the question is Greenberg the worlds best at complete inconsistency. He can give a glowing reference to a man who is guilty of speeding and drunk driving at a court hearing and turn his back on others

Can you show me where the NRL have said Musgrove's contract is not registered..?

He has been fulfilling his commitments to the club so I doubt that he is not receiving payments from the club.

Have been wondering the same thing, I haven't seen this from any decent sources just on this forum and a couple people on twitter.
