I don't know. He has now been added to the team line up on the website and Manly signed Chee-Kam yesterday. Not sure there are any other options for Bateman in Sydney (which is apparently where he wants to be).

Read is good mates with Richo, he won't be the one to name them unless Richo has an agenda and actually wants him to leak it.

I think you are right in that I don't think it is uncommon for players to be breaching agreed standards with their fitness/weight when coming back for preseason training.

As far as fronting the board goes, do we have one at the moment?

Exactly … one reason why that part of the story smells a bit … why only two of the five I wonder ? Did they come back really fat ?

I also think it’s unusual for players to front the board over warnings ..maybe Julie and The Wig havent got enough going on at the moment ,,

some of them absolutely had it handed to them, but I think they're the ones that likely won't be a part of our future moving forward.

the ones that I believe did earn it – Galvin, Da Silva, Bula and Samuela – trained the house down. ideally you would've wanted them to have spent a bit more time in the lower grades, but their attitude is top shelf. Sione Fainu was the same. those are the guys I'm talking about.

It’s interesting that Richo hasn’t stopped the leaks, he’s just way smarter with what he leaks.

Exactly BAGs. 100% the breach info was given to Brent Read from Richo. It's all strategic to tell the world (& players), shape up or ship out. This club is changing & won't accept mediocrity. Same with the Bateman story quoting Richo about we only want players in for the crocodile roll.

That's what I'm thinking Tom there's gotta be more to this, than coming back with a few extra kgs which I imagine happens in every club at this time of the year this place unfortunately has a nack of attracting negative press, we're constantly sending bullets to mugs like buzz, Crawley, read and hooper ect

It’s so good to see. Pascoe should really have backed Madge a few years ago and maybe we wouldn’t have three spoons. But at least we’re on track now.

For the good of his career, how about he grows up and stops letting his extra curricular activities influence his work time.
You can’t afford to have the kind of fun he wants without 100k a year job. Then party all you like. Behind closed doors, without phones.

The only other time the club has backed the coach was when the idiot Jason Taylor was back stabbing Farah which cost us a fortune to move him to souffs so he could hire peg leg Ballin for his 2 games and destroyed the club in the process.We have always had terrible management at board level

Where is stated that is for overweight?
A part of the bench mark was a 1.2km time trial. And what other criteria was part of their brief on returning to pre-season training, to which they were advised at seasons end?

I see this as the CEO/ GM responsibility myself and glad Richo is on board. The Board just needs to let him throw his punches.

With the stories I’ve heard it seems he truly can’t help himself. Doesn’t do him any favours with the amount of money he’s on

But that was all for the good of the club.

If it had not of been for that our CEO would not have been able to make up to Wobbie by offering him a dodgy Ambassadorship role which resulted in our CEO being stood down by the NRL for 6 months, we would not of been fined or had a hit to our cap for 2 seasons, oh, hang on a minute. 🤔

If I'm one of the fat club, the last thing I'd want is the media knowing about it. This affects how they are viewed by their peers and any future club signing them.

The only logic behind it I can see is that the club named and shamed them in front of the rest of the players.
