Try and keep up. I'm very specific about the words I use, so don't represent them with broad brush strokes.

It can mean any number of things to different people, but it is more than simply arrival and departure times. And your subjective description of what that approach includes is the literal definition of the opposite of a fact.

Besides, what is the point of you arguing this point?

Don't love your family enough eh? Don't think they should come first? Don't think someone can do a great job whilst simultaneously prioritising their family?

Sounds a bit antiquated to me.

Benji is taking a modern approach to working and life which has helped him recruit players in this generation. He is acknowledging the multiple roles in modern life and the importance of balancing those roles. I don't think it's a hot take.

At the end of the day, what Benji believes about family or puts out in the press is really just noise and will have little to no bearing on actual results, for better or worse.

Now I understand you. You haven't actually read my posts. I actually agree with YOU. I'm not arguing against you.

I couldn't work out what your problem was. Now I know.

I'm not against Benji and his mentality for the record. I just think he means balance in life and football, whereas others have taken it to mean all family and football is second. That's all.

He is on the record talking about that balance so I just take what he has said and repeated it. I can also see the actions of him and the team. If that makes it subjective, then you win. So be it.

But speed isn't the be all and end all.

Take Klemmer, he is a big unit and actually can build some pace to him.
What he can't do is change direction as easily. He lacks the quick stepping of say Samuela Fainu.

Big guys can run, small guys run around them.

What happened in a one off event is largely irrelevant. Too many variables. Maybe Weekes felt a twinge and felt it wasn't worth it.

In the same way you can't judge Toa's talents from that one game v the cowboys. You judge a player's ability on the accumulation of their performances. That provides a meaningful sample size to remove any outliers.

Doueihi has proven many times that he's injury prone, very slow, lazy and lacks agility and acceleration. Toa has proven many times that he's highly injury prone, a lazy defender and lazy in attack.
 
I don't really give a rats about Benji's family first approach, i think its obvious that almost everyone in the entire world puts family first majority of the time.
I don't really see the need to constantly emphasize something so apparent, I will say though taking a holiday to Fiji mid season when your coming last isn't family first its taking the piss.
Think Benji has a lot to get up to speed with and this year is sink or swim imo, so less talking about the same dribble and more doing would be my 2 cents.

lol it can literally mean instead of watching the 100th video of turbo hitting a hole close to the line , he’s in his sons bedrooom reading him a bedtime story . Or sitting in on the 3rd marketing strategy meeting for the week , or going to see his something on at his son’s school .
It’s that simple , and honestly he’s just articulated probably what everyone does all the time .
Lack of effort will not be Benjis downfall . It will 💯 come down to whether he can interpret the ways in which the team needs to improve , and then more importantly imprint that gameplan into the players brains .
It will have nothing to do with hours worked .

It’s a will to win … if winning is he puts in the plays , and doesn’t have to do the dirty work .
People with a real will to win , playing right now ? cotter , Watson , even Api. Diving head first into spots where most people wouldn’t put their feet . Chasing down line breaks , when they just got off making the tackle just before on the other side of the field . Needing an oxygen mask , because they played when they had a flu and their body almost shut down on them .
That’s a will to win .
Talking shit and abusing your team mates , doesn’t mean anything .
