Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He is his own manager these days, he might drive a hard bargain?
Gotta be AD.Only one that goes close to fitting the description...and they need halves
Either Knights or AD wld be pretty stoopid signing for 4 seasons at this point of time...hes done nothing for years due to chronic injury, other than demonstrate an unwillingness to defend
So 4 year contract... hes either selling himself short as insurance against yet another injury...or Knights are simply hoping for the best, and that the worst is behind him .Like Blore. But AD is a lot older...less likely
... risk aint worth the reward IMO
Im ecstatic its not WTs taking that risk.
Hes one season at a time atm

"The Newcastle Knights have secured a significant coup by locking in one of the West Tigers’ top stars on a four-year contract, adding a crucial piece to their squad for the coming seasons. This long-term signing has created a buzz within the NRL community, as the Knights aim to build a team that can consistently challenge for titles in the future.

The player in question, whose identity has been revealed in various reports, is a highly-rated talent with exceptional skills and a proven track record in the NRL. Known for his ability to change the course of a game with his speed, vision, and strength, he brings a wealth of experience to the Newcastle squad. His decision to leave the West Tigers and join the Knights marks a pivotal moment in his career and could help elevate the Knights’ performance across the board.

The move is particularly important for Newcastle, who have been making a concerted effort to build a strong, competitive team after a few years of inconsistent performances. The club’s leadership, including head coach, has been vocal about their desire to strengthen key positions, and this new acquisition is seen as an important step in that direction. His arrival is expected to bolster the Knights’ attacking options and provide valuable experience to a relatively young squad.

For the West Tigers, losing one of their top stars is a significant blow, as the player has been one of the standout performers in recent seasons. However, the Tigers are reportedly focusing on reshaping their roster and bringing in fresh talent. While this particular loss stings, the West Tigers’ coaching staff and management are hopeful that the changes they are making will set the foundation for future success.

The four-year contract demonstrates Newcastle’s commitment to building a team for the long haul, as they look to compete at the top level in the NRL. The player’s commitment to the club for an extended period is a clear indication of his belief in the Knights’ potential and the direction they are heading. Both the club and its fans will be hopeful that this signing will contribute to a new era of success for Newcastle, with the player expected to play a key role in helping them return to the NRL’s elite ranks.

In the coming seasons, all eyes will be on the Knights as they integrate this new talent into their system, and the added firepower from this signing could prove pivotal in their quest for a premiership."

We haven’t had any players who were standouts in recent seasons.

If you want to have blind faith, that’s your prerogative. I just think it’s glaring if he’s choosing not to take an upgrade this year and next. His intentions seem clear, And in the unlikely event that he hasn’t been offered an upgrade like someone suggested yesterday, then the spotlight shifts back to Richo and why he hasn’t made the most no brainer move he could make as a CEO, moving to secure our best junior long term. If Richo is still sitting on his hands, then I think the amount of faith people put in him is misplaced. Either way, it’s not a good sign.
Disagree mate. We've got until November to upgrade and extend. No need for either party to rush that.
We don't know what was said last time they sat down but you would have to imagine Galvin wanted to leave because the team sucked and Richo said to bad you've got a contract we are going to hold you to and the plan is to improve the side in that time.
Nothing has changed since then so why start negotiating?
In 3 months time however we might be playing better footy and Richo can say look at the improvements we've made and we can still improve because... whatever sales pitch. He will also be better placed to say/know what can be offered for the remainder of this season and next.
If we don't improve then well nothing has changed from Galvins perspective so he probably is likely on the way out or Richo will know showing him the money combined with his best sales pitch is about his only option.

They have taken a Gamble once before, pardon the pun.
Is Gamble is there?
Didn’t he hack on AD? Called him a pussy when AD fained an injury after dropping the ball, and then AD magically got up and was well enough to have a go at Gamble. Which only proves Gambles point that AD is and always has been a pussy and we probably would have been better off keeping Gamble.
