Best of luck to Mahe.

As to the above discussion about Aloai.

I add this point. In the past history of our club. Who has become a better player here.

Taupau

Yeah...hmm...very few...

Richards
Prince
Matterson?

Thompson

@balmain-boy I agree we need to look outside the club. Young forwards on the cusp of NRL selection plus the best junior rep players offer best options for WTs.

A bit of movement in the roster is a good outcome. We know what the players who are eaving can do including perhaps Josh. We need to step things up and see what our new breed have to offer.

Re Aloiai - would be a real loss.

Re Gamble - has anyone checked @The_Patriot is OK

Given Madge is looking for a prop. I wouldnt be surprised to see Jordan Grant who used to be Wests Tigers come back. He has been the standout prop in the QLD cup from what I have been told and is hitting that prime territory plus wouldn't be too expensive for the rest of the year

The love feast for Aloia makes you wonder , this guy is average at best has 2 to 3 strong hit ups then goes missing with the 3 or 4 penalties included ... his defence is there abouts. Will he go to the next level to push hard into a final series think not ,if he can get a longer gig elsewhere go for it . The mediocrity cycle has to be broken the club HAS to look at bringing in new blood or nothing is going to change!

He's not a mediocre player though. He's a good player on an upward trajectory. The fact of the matter is we have to pay a little more or offer a slightly longer term because noone wants to play for us. If we think we can bide our time and snare some gun we are kidding ourselves. It isn't going to happen. As a player there would be nowhere less appealing than WT. I know there has been talk of Welch and Capewell coming but really, can you see it happening? I can't. Not in a million years.

If you're happy to see Aloiai go then I hope you're happy to see a bunch of has beens or CC players join. That is the absolute best we can do. The only high profile players we'll ever be able to sign are those that are injured to the extent that they'll need a mobility scooter to get around.

I can accept your comment Snake only if we do indeed replace average with good. Aloiai does a decent job - not great but solid with some really good hit ups. He’s an average to solid first grader imo. I’m not confident we will replace him with a top tier player. Hope he stays. But if he goes, let’s see who we pick up

Well it appears 3 other Clubs now don't hold that view...but your right probably go great in a Storm jersey..

@avocadoontoast I am a little more optimistic in the signing stakes , but you have to cut the deadwood. If the offered contract is not good enough bye bye . I would not of offered him a contract to be frank ... new blood needs to be added ... if you like the status quo good for you .

If you think we're going to sign anyone better than Aloiai I think you'll be very disappointed. The best we can hope for is someone a little less dynamic than Eisenhuth.

@avocadoontoast I’ll have whatever the heck it is that you’re having, matey!

With the exception of Matterson, that was a total miracle, name some other great signings we've made in the forwards over the past couple of years?
