Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

My original post was this:

Here's the real question.

Would one pay any player $1 million a season after a handful of NRL games?

That is, in a nutshell, what we are dealing with and frankly it's madness to invest so much, so early, when Galvin needs to answer a lot more questions about whether or not he'll reach his potential.

2027 could be a big payday for him depending on how he goes between now and then. A million bucks now?...it's way too risky.

I pose a question and say that is the question that needs to be asked.

I make the point that a million bucks is madness so early in his career. As an example, Reece Walsh signed a million dollar contract after 74 games, 30+ tries and 50+ try assists at 22. To sign Galvin now on a million would be giving him the money before the results...it's based on hope and a gamble...therefore I have labelled it risky. That's all....risky. not that it would never happen. Just risky.

You turned it into whether or not it does or doesn't happen sometimes in the NRL. I have never made that argument. Only that it is risky given the sample size of his performances is small.

I agree with you. Clubs have signed dumb contracts before, but it's not the point I was making.

You asked the Question,
and I answered with an instance where it has in fact happened - Quite Recently.

You're the one that turned it into some stupid back and forth with shifting of the goal posts.
Should it happen - No,
Is it Madness - Of Course it is.
Has it happened - Yes
Could it possibly happen (Or possibly already have happened with Galvin - Hence the release request)
Yes.

Again,
You asked the Question
- My answer to that Question was a very brief and simple yes.
And you seem to agree - Why are we here?

If it’s true Galvin is on$250,000 for two more years , if the kid and his manager except $500,000 for the next two years , then took $700,000 if he was still looking like a gun player , with the extra $250,000 a year that he got u could say he was on $950,000 per year , if he and his manager done see that then he is going come November

Fact check - there is no "you reckon" but there are the words of our CEO.

More Facts - The same CEO that moved an under Contract John Bateman (Twice), Bud Sullivan and looking to do the same with Dave Klemmer (All in a matter of months)

Yeah Right....
Appreciate your opinion, Although I'm not sure I got it.

He was around $800K…and no
At it again. You are an embarrassment. Your dislike for Galvin is beyond a joke. Like i sais the keyboard coach of the wests tigers knows it all. Ask any expert that same question and there wouldnt be one person to agree with you.
Yeah one player got the ball a hand full of times per game compared to Galvin who as a kid tried to get into the game every possible chance. Put Suali in that tigers team last year then carry on with your usual bullshit you clown.

And arent you the clown that keeps carrying on abt Makasini being too young to play NRL at 18, yet your arguing abt how good another 19yr old went. Mate give your bullshit professional advice a break. FFs

No shifting. Possibly misunderstanding around "would one pay". More to mean..should one pay...

Let's put it down to that and have a great day. Glad we can finally agree.

I reckon suali would have had more impact for the tigers

You reckon if he was to sign with the Roosters on big money for 2027 this November?
- We keep him at the club for another year just 'because we can' and
Play Latu in Ressies because we're hanging onto a kid in front of him - just because we can?

I've got a unicorn for sale if you know anyone?

It's quite a situation all in all,
the only half we currently have signed for 2027 is Latu if I'm not mistaken?
(And Bud maybe)?
And even then - that's Latus last year.
I also think that if Galvin signs for another club after 1 Nov 25 he will be released from the final year of his contract, most likely as part of a swap deal.

Isaac Moses would be confident of getting Galvin out of the final year of his deal. Otherwise, it seems too much money for Galvin to leave on the table to play the 25 and 26 seasons under his current contract (without an upgrade and extension). If it’s only 2025, it’s not so bad. Time will tell. It’s great having Latu under contract for three more seasons.

Yes I understand it’s entirely up to us if we release Gavin for 2026.
