Looking at what we ran out in the centre's last night and Olam gone either way, id take May any day of the week. Whats the bet the NRL deny the medical retirement of Olam just to screw with us.
Wasn't there a stat that the dogs had almost the worst missed tackles last year but still one of the better points conceded stat.
Still think our scramble defence was OK .
The broken play defence was bad.

Well if we did our correct due diligence and he arrived healthy, and the injury occurred playing for us, then it’s a no brainer.
However, if we went ahead and bought him under an injury cloud then it’s just another dumb recruitment decision and heads should roll ( but they won’t).
it just seems to go on for ever -

After last nights performance there is no way in hell anyone should be assuming the Eels or anyone else will be easybeats. As it stands, we are still the worst team in the competition. I saw some good things last night, but there were some pretty worrying things that have kept this club at the bottom for so long.
No one is easy beats for us, we make an easy game look hard thats for sure.
That helps,
But last night's performance showed that we beat ourselves.
We need more composure in attack.

Think you hit the nail on the head . Over all ,green shoots ,we do look more composed in defence and we aren't playing /panicking to the clock , (hypocrite alert?} We had nothing in the last 10 to show we wanted that game

After watching all the games so far I have to say we are in the bottom 4-5 , even the teams that got flogged look better than us in attack , apart from the try we scored I couldn’t remember another backline move , how the hell do u go throw a pre season and not have worked on plays inside there 1/3 , and too get 50 odd miss tackles is disgraceful, I think it might be a long winter AGAIN

Until we learn to play with shape we will continue to struggle to score points. Look at all the other games this weekend, 90% of the tries are from running block plays and stripping defensive numbers.
How has this not been addressed by the coaching staff? It’s so obvious. I honestly believe it has been the main factor in these 3 wooden spoons. It was the number one thing I wanted to see from round 1 and we didn’t even attempt it once. Really disappointing and it’s actually just totally bizarre.

The fullback creates the extra number, that’s the whole point. Otherwise you’re just shifting the ball side to side and it’s just so easy for the defence to handle. We were absolutely impotent in attack.
Kind of felt like we did at times on Friday and we still couldn’t get it done.
