Exactly and most on here wouldn’t know what they are talking about. I’m just glad they are not the coach or the recruitment dept. They thrive on rumours not facts. I guess this is their ideal topic.

@Geo wait... so you haven’t read that we’re after burgess ? What is the topic that’s being discussed here for the past few pages. Idk mate for a forum supporter you dunno much of what’s going on ... I mean take it with a grain of salt that we would even be able to sign anyone, finance wise?? Let alone when you still didn’t answer the question about what our ‘club’s’ drawcard is

Our Clubs draw card is the Coach..simple.... and the calibre of player he can attract to play under and for him.

@TYGA posted more likely to sign a Corey Dennis than a George Burgess

@TieDye completely agreed..

I suggest Maguire will attract a better quality of player than that...hope that helps

Madge is a great coach he has no money to attract players due to Cleary wasting the cap dollars on ageing players going downhill fast.

@Masterton Your probably rite Masterton ! Some people can be incedibly petty but I guess I’ll always throw my 2c in to support a life long friend and fellow tiger - after all it’s simply some vigorous debate that can only improve potential options for our club to expand successfully

Tie has been a personal trainer most of his life and worked under Michael at Souths Sydney .

He has asked me to comment for him previously on only the one occasion where I believe something happened between him and another forum user who did not get along he’s a good man and wants to get the bottom of things. Thanks

Not a fan at all of people who like to boost themselves up off of rumour and inuendo. This forum’s a great place to avoid that ? Ps, this is also the signing’s suggestions thread!

@TieDye We will be there on Sunday ! Maybe try to text him for a few beers . Love to catch up with you for the big day tie, unless you’re in the box again ! thats not for us

We will be lucky to sign Corey Dennis let alone George Burgess.

Signing George Burgess would prove conclusively that the club has learned absolutely nothing over the past decade.

@tony-soprano There was never any doubt he was going to be a big miss. There’s a difference between bog average players and players who are out of form due to off field issues. DWZ was in the second category.

Bevan French has been playing fullback for the Eels reserve grade team and his stats are actually very good. 14 games, 13 tries and 12 try-assists. Now I know that stats don't paint the full picture but this is quite impressive. Only suspect aspect of his game would be his defence and his ability under the high ball. Things that can be worked on. I think we have a shot at him be it on the wing or at fullback.

Unfortunately we couldn't afford him. No point crying over spilled milk.

A reserve grader. Time to look higher than reserve graders.

Tevita Funa Blacktown winger is a beast and off contract. Looks like a first grader.

If all we can afford are reserve graders there's not much point window shopping for top shelf talent. Guys like Funa and Hiroti are young, fast and kick goals. They tick a lot of boxes and when you've got yourself into a salary cap mess they're the sort of players you need to be keeping an eye out for.
Bevan French on the other hand I have no interest in...

@Nelson The players I have mentioned were keepers and that was obvious in SG Ball. How you manage to conjure up hindsight is highly amusing. There has been systemic failure in retention at this club. How about a bit less backside covering and taking responsibility for failures.

@weststigerman I was vocal at the time we lost him and for very good reason. Check the relevant thread if you care to because it was apparent to me and no doubt to others there were very talented players in SG Ball that should have been retained. I call it a systemic failure of retention.

@2041 Absolutely. That’s the only reason he isn’t here. Some on here didn’t want him though as they thought he was rubbish. Was just pointing out he was out of form as opposed to being rubbish

@Nelson We had a discussion a long while back about a young centre who to me was a player WTs should have made a priority to sign. You disagreed. This player is big, tall, strong, very fast and with good ball skills and can play multiple positions in the backline. In your words, he ticks a lot of boxes and more. So where did he end up? Playing left centre for NSW in SOO. Funa was cut down from behind by a player of average pace in U20s after getting a head start. What are we to make of this and the fact Suli, Parker and Walker are ahead of him at Manly? Hmmm
