Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If Young wants to be a centre, I'd definitely consider him. Need to find the balance between not blocking Makasini but also not relying on him as an 18 year old.

At less than 400k replacing Naden with Roosters chipping in seems like good business to me.

If we had first choice of
2. Skelton
3. Young
4. To'a
5. Turuva

with Makasini, Laulilli and possibly Doeuihi there for depth we could let Feledy, Faatape, Naden all go and be in a much better position.

Initially I thought we don't need another winger but I'm warming to it if he can make a centre.
I'd prefer a someone who has played centre, that's better than every centre we have. Taylan will do. I definitely don't want to sign Young as a centre

Exactly....

Lets sign a guy who's playing busted at another club and play him in a position at top grade he's never actually played in...
Just so we can keep our overpaid young gun (That actually plays in that position) in lower grades for a couple more years to learn his trade in the position 😂😂😂

The rationale here is mind boggling.....

May is predominantly a winger as well. When he played centre for Panthers, he wasn't great. He's also a head case.

I'd prefer Young if I had the choice.

He has ability GNR, enough to be a solid backup half, no worse than Sezer imo.
I don’t understand what some people are missing.
Have a look at who’s been playing in our NSW Cup halves for most of this season and ask yourself is Tyrone May a better player ?
Anyone who watches our NSW Cup team will not hesitate in saying Tyrone May is surely a better player than what we currently have for depth.
Then in the subject of potentially signing Dom Young possibly as an instant transfer.
I understand there are concerns surrounding his defence, but why is that now all of a sudden a problem when it was not noticed while at the Knights and not noticed in his standout performances for Great Britain ?

Young would be an absolute defensive liability in the centres

People like flashy things - "big name" signings, especially ones with good attacking reputations. This doesn't apply in Young's case but the other one you see on here a lot are people advocating signing players who were really good years ago but clearly aren't any more. There were some who carried on insisting that James Roberts would be good if we could "get him some early ball", ignoring that he'd been well below first grade standard for half a decade by that point.

I don’t understand what so care missing.

You have to ask yourself...if Skelton or Doueihi is injured, who would you rather put on the wing or centres? Staines, Fataape, Naden or....Dom Young

I'd take him with a discount. We are going to lose depth there and wingers and centres always seem to get injured during the season. Gonna need someone that can finish a try

Dom Young and KPP certainly both fit the physical profile of what we would be after. They both have some pretty glaring deficiencies in their game though, particularly Young.
Why would we sign a lighting fast, tall and strong winger who scores plenty of long range tries.
After all we got rid of Marika Koroibete and Josh Addo-Carr as we didn’t think either of them were good enough defenders either.

Thinking about how May played against the Dragons, could he be a long term 13? Invest that money instead in a middle that hits the line hard to pair with Pole?
I think he could play 13 but I like the balance of him at 13 and impact props like pole and Hunt pairing with him. Obviously Twal is doing well at 13 as an extra prop, but I still like the idea of a matamua or Latu or Dylan walker type playing that role and making us more of an attacking threat. I think may's ability to go long minutes at prop in that situation would make him even more valuable to us.
