when leani latu is on more then you im guessing you want a pay upgrade

Few others too... I'd be asking for an increase if I was Arrow. via foxsports.

Ash Taylor - $900k

Ryan James - $700k

Shannon Boyd - $600k

Bryce Cartwright - $600k

Tyrone Peachey - $600k

Nathan Peats - $600k

Jarrod Wallace - $500k

Leilani Latu - $500k

I can't believe they're paying Bryce Cartwright $600k, he's not even with $100k!

At least he is in first grade. We had millions in Canterbury Cup.

That’s called coaching and why Brennan was sacked. As soon as you pick a non performer that you brought with you the other players lower their level.

I don't know about that, he left Latu parked in reggies for most of his time there and Cartwright also spent time in reggies last year...he's just not getting what he should be out of that squad and has made too many dud signings (Latu, Cartwright, Boyd, Peachey etc...)

I have lost a heap of respect for Madge, he is going to go in to next year with Benji as our starting 6, bloody hell, I might just find something else to do with my weekends next year, sorry Grub you have been given no bloody chance at all, I wish you well mate.

Tigers tell Reynolds he's free to find a new club

The Wests Tigers have told Josh Reynolds he is free to find a new home in 2020, granting the five-eighth permission to negotiate with rival clubs.
NRL.com can reveal Tigers coach Michael Maguire recently arranged a heart-to-heart with Reynolds to discuss the 30-year-old's future beyond the end of this year, opening the door for him to depart at season's end.
The meeting came after veteran playmaker Benji Marshall strongly indicated to the club that he will run around again in 2020.

The Tigers have a lot of admiration for Reynolds, who has been stuck in reserve grade behind Marshall for most of 2019, and don't want to stand in his way of a regular NRL spot at this stage in his career.
Reynolds, who joined the Tigers from the Bulldogs last season, still has another two-and-a-bit years to run on his deal but showed in his brief stint in the NRL this year that he still has plenty to offer.
The Tigers don't want to force him out of the club and have told Reynolds he will be given every opportunity to reclaim his position in the NRL side, however it seems unlikely he will be the club's first choice No.6 next season.

NRL.com understands the Tigers are willing to pay a large chunk of his salary, which will not only help Reynolds find a new home, but also free up space in the salary cap to ensure they can lure new players to the club.

Given his predicament, Reynolds could have asked for a release to join another club before June 30, however his commitment to the Tigers hasn't wavered and he hasn't kicked stones despite having to play NSW Canterbury Cup.
The Tigers didn't engage in any pre-June 30 discussions because they were waiting to see whether Marshall wanted to play on before deciding what to do with Reynolds.
However given Marshall's recent desire to continue, the club doesn't see the point in having such a highly-paid player like Reynolds as a back-up option.

Reynolds, whose versatility also makes him a handy bench option as well as a starting half, is renowned for his energy and effort, and would be an asset to many sides both on and off the field.
Injuries and selection – or lack thereof – have limited the former NSW State of Origin five-eighth to just nine games for the Tigers in two seasons.

Financially it makes sense to show Josh the door - likeable fellow and gives his all on the field - but he is never on the field - his body is failing him and at 30 years of age I cannot see that improving.

Can see the CC and Qld Cup sides stampeding over each other to sign him

Interesting. Pretty sure Pascoe said we wouldn't be doing this anymore.

We have to be real here and think logically, Josh has not strung any consistent games together for about 3 years in a row now, he is not getting any younger and the injuries he has been susceptible to have been ongoing. He is taking a big chuck of our salary cap and I doubt that he will be on the field for long next year either because of his history. I’d rather have some more money in the cap and play with Benji in the team to be honest and if benji gets injured I do think we would have some handy replacements in Mbye and talau maybe even Jock madden if he is ready for first grade.

Very true.

@851 I think that is quite reasonable.

What to have Benji as our starting 6 next year, please, move Grub on, but get somebody else, stop clinging to 2005, it will be 2020 and 15 years later next year, just move on from Marshall

@851 Marshall is getting better as this year goes on, I would want a very solid backup plan.

The main part that I think is reasonable is giving Josh notice and the option of finding another team if he wants to.

I’m a big fan of Reynolds but WT supporters need to be pragmatic about his future which I’m sure the club is doing.

No point him fading into an oblivion playing reserve grade because I think he deserves better than that however I don’t think he isn’t OUR best option at the moment or moving forward.

Whilst I don’t watch much Super League my impression is that it isn’t as demanding as the NRL on players body’s so I think he would go very well over there. Christ if Blake Austin is in the running for the Man if Steel then Reynolds should win it hands down.

I agree he should go to the Super League. Only problem is his contract with us is huge and with injuries he’ll retire when it’s finished. There is no incentive to head over unless he wants to from a personal perspective.

Maybe if we are paying some freight it may entice him, surely he doesn’t want to finish his career is reserves.
