I’m a big fan of Reynolds but WT supporters need to be pragmatic about his future which I’m sure the club is doing.

No point him fading into an oblivion playing reserve grade because I think he deserves better than that however I don’t think he isn’t OUR best option at the moment or moving forward.

Whilst I don’t watch much Super League my impression is that it isn’t as demanding as the NRL on players body’s so I think he would go very well over there. Christ if Blake Austin is in the running for the Man if Steel then Reynolds should win it hands down.

I agree he should go to the Super League. Only problem is his contract with us is huge and with injuries he’ll retire when it’s finished. There is no incentive to head over unless he wants to from a personal perspective.

Remember him saying he'd want to go over there before he calls it a day. Obviously, we'll be paying a large portion of his contract if he does move to the uk or another nrl club.

One of Ivans big mistakes.

You can only have Benji or Josh in your top 30.

Not both you moron.

Benji was supposed to be a back-up. The same role he filled at the Broncos. The facts are that our squad is so bad, not only does he force he way into the side, but is one of our better performers.

NRL.com understands the Tigers are willing to pay a large chunk of his salary, which will not only help Reynolds find a new home, but also free up space in the salary cap to ensure they can lure new players to the club.

Interesting. Pretty sure Pascoe said we wouldn't be doing this anymore.

It's just a necessary measure at times, we'd be stupid not to entertain the possibility. Obviously there are limits but paying $200K-$250K shouldn't be ruled out in my view - that would free up a lot of cash for a player that might actually take to the park.

Take it with a grain of salt but someone has commented on a @NBWT__ twitter post that matulino has told teammates he's retiring...

He already plays like the retiring type so why not?

Mention of Jai Arrow being courted by us and of course the Eels and Dogs.

How do they do it? The Eels are buying everyone it seems, and it wasn't so long ago the Dogs were in so much salary cap strife they were dumping players left, right and centre!!

It’s media talk they just guess at clubs that need a prop and have cap room. Why would Gold Coast let their best forward leave? Others will be moved on first.

@851 I think that is quite reasonable.

What to have Benji as our starting 6 next year, please, move Grub on, but get somebody else, stop clinging to 2005, it will be 2020 and 15 years later next year, just move on from Marshall

I assume that with next to no cap space and multiple other areas of the squad that need improving Maguire thinks getting a serviceable 5/8 for next to nothing is a necessary evil. No-one's saying it's 2005 except you.

Because they have dumped players left, right and centre. Unfortunately we can't even pay someone to pick up our rubbish - at least there was some sort of market for Mbye, Woods and Klemmer.

Jai Arrow has a player/manager - my guess this is all driven by him to force up the player's salary.

Jai Arrow has be tabled a $4M 5 year extension offer from the Gold Coasr..colour me surprised..
