Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Tbh I feel everything was going well til the Galvin stuff we were getting the updates and everything but after the Galvin stuff the world has seemed to fall down, as managers and media all treat us like shit and I think Richiis finding hard to deal with
Surely everyone can see the team has been playing uncomfortably for the last 4 weeks since Galvin was dropped for the Eels game.

How can this be possible when Uncle Nick won't deal with Moses even persuaded Tedesco to dump him as his manager.
Yeah that's what my assumption was as well.

Could be just dribble but the mail is pretty strong plus the media seem to be jumping on board.

Anyway we will see. Regardless you'd think he is gone before June 30.

That makes more spots to fill.

Everyone just hold on and give Richo time as I think in about 4 weeks we WILL be in a better place with the roster.
He will be offloading a few deadwood by the sounds of it and getting contracts signed and approved by the NRL takes time.

We don't need to buy a top dollar half as Laui will be fine with a player he gets along with and wants to be a team player E.g Saxton or Smith etc..
Richo will get us a centre, 2nd Rower and some forwards as he knows what we are missing.

If we don't get May signed, I would like Jake Averillo from Dolphins as he is only on 400k.

Priority would be extending Bula ASAP as well

As an aside the forward pass issue is easy to fix. The ball must be caught behind where the player releases the ball. There would still be line balls that get through; but 90% would be fixed and once you start penalising teams they will adapt.
This is not the solution. You’d solve one problem and create another because so many passes that are backwards out of the hand end up being caught in front of where the pass was thrown.

I hate blaming referees Jolls, but momentum is very difficult to slow, whether you're going forwards or backwards. Watching the Storm game, we were on the backfoot from the outset and Melbourne were on the front. If the ref pulled up every forward pass, the Storm wouldn't have had that momentum, we get some football and it doesn't turn into a flogging. Not saying we would have won, just not been flogged. The ref can slow a side down by penalizing them or speed them up by not. He let Melbourne rip.
In the Souths game, he could have binned Mitchell but chose not to, even though the same act from a different players earned a trip to the bin. In a tight game, these decisions matter. We're not getting the 50/50 calls and we're not good enough to win without them.
They don’t usually do it on purpose, it is an unconscious bias that exists in all refs, and humans.
It has been costing us for years and teams like storm have definitely benefited.
But be better and play better for longer and you will eventually chance the tide.
Until then they will continue to assume the shite team did it.
That Latrel non sin bin really pissed me off, I knew if it were one of ours they’d be gone and then mins later they basically proved it.

Top teams not affected. They cut out the middle man.

Is anyone else deflated? I am, this “kid” has derailed the season. I know he cant stay but 150k transfer fee, whats that going to do?

Never ends the drama, just when you think things are on the improve….sigh
100%

The way Hooper explained it on 360 is embarrassing.
He was Benjis golden boy then Luai arrived and took over and he was feeling sad and left out.

The whole situation has been a disgrace.
The petulance shown has been ridiculous.

We got them in our early wins

🤣🤣🤣🤣 chill out mate. What Richo has done in a year is impressive and tops what Pascoe did in 8. It is very unlike Richo in his tenure here to not deliver on his word. So I'd say those signings are going to eventuate and any release of Galvin is going to lead to something beneficial for our team.
Can people just chill on the Richo/Pascoe thing.

People are not cheering their club's General managers. No dragons go around praising theirs, the dogs probably hate Gould... none of the others really figure.

Parra, Manly are absolute basketcases. Yet they get better results through better training culture and better coaches.

End of the day it comes down to the head coach + training environment. The head coach is picking our trainers and so far they have decided for our club to be inbred.

Richo should perhaps work with that, but it's the boards decision to pick Benji as coach. Benji owns it and Richo is right to back him to the hilt! (everyone going in 1 direction works).

I just hope Richo and the board have a damn awesome backup plan.

That is under the current NRL rules. Simply update it to reflect the ball has to be received behind where it is released. That is how the rule was intended - not for the ball to float forward.
