Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It depends if it was in our control or out of it.

Galvo was more receptive to influences other than us. They won his confidence and support and it spiralled out of our cotrol from there.

We have a lot of players coming through the club and the chances are a few will fall under the spell of others.

Its not just our issue. Latrell and the roosters, stalemate there.

If you have any lessons to be learned, im seriously open to be persuaded.

Otherwise, i see it as a more isolated event.
Firstly, Latrell is not the same. Roosters got 2 premierships out of him.
Secondly, lessons learned is an excercise to review the whole situation from your perspective…..“what did we do well”? “where can we improve”? “what did we mess up”?
Thirdly, this is not an isolated event. It happened very similarly when Teddy and Moses walked out. If we don’t look introspectively, we are doomed to repeat it once again when TDS and Bula and the rest come up for contract negs.

It makes you wonder why he is #22 this week and how Tristan Hope has just overtaken him out of no where. TDS was terrible vs Storm but I think it would be widely agreed he was offering a lot in his 25 minute role off the bench prior to that. Definitely not deserving of being punted after 1 poor one.
I think it may also be part of ensuring TDSs continued development that he goes back to cup and play some games and big minutes periodically as well

Disagree with your conparisons, anyway have a shot and shot and suggest to me how we could have prevented it?

Hypnotist?

I'll watch tonight's Newy game and I hope I'm convinced that K.P.P. is worth Wests Tigers chasing his signature.
He seems to be disregarded in attack by the Knights so I"d love to see him do something spectacular like Dylan Lucas did last week.
imao , he runs 100 decoys a game , the opposition just disregard him . Close to the line he's over twice . Parked in 1st grade with no input because they payed to much for him , (weak club etc)

The point of these posts Tuck? Kade 7 is always posting interesting info and is very close to the mark more often than not , I don’t get why you get snarky towards posters on here so easily ? We all are here for Community Engagement with fellow supporters? Aren’t we ? 🤔
Because it’s about time we stop feeling sorry for ourselves and man up. I can’t stand the constant “woe is me attitudes”.
We got played. We got bent over. I get it, that sucks.
Now let’s get better and not let it happen again.

i back the club on almost everything but giving taylan to souths is a fk up and terrell will go join him once his contract is up with us
I just have a feeling... Benji and Bennet are mates, some sort of agreement could have been made.
Just seems weird that he did everything we asked and we didn't give him a chance..

maybe, instead of us putting him in NSW cup, we told him go play under Bennet for a year and come back and reunite with his brother in 27?

Would keep him out of the spotlight while he regains fitness and confidence and lets us move players and continue to fix our cap to make room for him long term?

Taylan is a no brainer for us if he ticks the boxes.

The fact that we're not in for him is 1 of 2 things IMO:
- They met him and he's an absolute head case who they believe will mess up again
- There is another centre we have signed already

If it's the former, it's strange that Wayne Bennett seems okay with him.
Wayne Bennett loves head cases.

Who did we get played by?

No I haven’t ! I said he’s the biggest dickhead who follows the cowboys and only comes on here to stir shit up . Not an actual tigers supporter . You’re Clearly a tigers supporter. You’re just miserable , and defeated / masochist so you love this shit!
I couldn’t be any more clearer on the distinction.
Mate stop calling me a dickhead because I said I didn’t want to be your friend lol….youre like a butthurt schoolgirl.
I do support the Tigers and have done so longer than you.
No foot stamping nor tantrum will change that fact.

We gave bratfink the run of the club. We let him loose and offered him $1.2 a season or whatever.

He was out-brooksing brooksy.

No young player was given more than bratfink was by a club at his stage.

Yet he still effed it all up.

My only regret is we were dumb enough to suck up to him, teach him his game properly and turn him into a big name.

But we werent to know about his inner narcissist.

No lessons for us.

If he does kick on, its to the credit of our recruitment for spotting him and to Benji for his first rate and best practice coaching of him.

The Laundy family has a net worth of approx 1.5billion. do you think he is concerned with commercial/business sense throwing say 250k a year at Galvin to top up his contract? Gould would be coming to him and telling him who to top up with 3rd parties and he wouldnt give it a 2nd thought
But Laundy, from a business perspective, can not top up contracts. Businesses need to account for spending and any business He is associated with can not pay Galvin (though admittedly there is only so much integrity unit and heck even ato can investigate.
If the accusation was he is reportedly withdrawing from his personal account and putting it in the hand of Galvin I'd push back less as there is literally nothing to stop him doing so (though I still doubt it). His business giving funds to players is far more easily investigated. Me suggesting 250k mattering in a commercial sense isn't about what Laundy would pay, but how much can he influence owners of other businesses to pay? How many businesses that have Laundy as a client would be willing to part that much money due to his influence?

But it was nothing like a playing the victim or woe is us post....he simply clarified his deal in a bit more detail

Giving Richo the benefit of the doubt. Im guessing that now he has officially granted Galvin's release he is announcing the signings of KPP and Hetheringon next week closely followed by May (unfortunately in my opinion). The dreamer in me has him getting Staggs rather than May.
Why is everyone desperate to bring Hetherington here? I don’t see what the hype is about.

It’s not up to me, management has to do it. It’s the domain of who ever worked on his retention and subsequent rejection.

you could just start numerous shelf companies in a tax haven that Australia has no durestiction with Cash is getting harder to hide ,but figures can be rubbery if the all seeing eye chooses to not glance in your direction
