Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Souths got rid of him three years after he coached them to their first premiership in 40 years…and now he is struggling at a club with a top 3 roster in the comp…something is wrong with his coaching game
I wonder how Benji Marshall would go at Brisvegas as coach?

I know it's a weird question. Madge clearly has flogged the team to death, but brainlessly so. Jason Ryles seems to have a better idea at Parramatta, but still.. Flogg flogg flogg.

Ciraldo and Craig F at least have some brains/ideas about what they are flogging into the team.

A tough training and a tough rageme is needed to get the results. Madge's flogging and more flogging doesn't work.

I reckon Benji would have them higher on the ladder than they are now.

Did he flog the Tigers when he was here … , because they displayed poor fitness at the time … I think mentally he must be a punish as well…we know Bellamy flogs everyone physically … maybe he can afford to be more choosy and just recruit blokes he knows can handle it … Tigers are in the beggars can’t be choosers category…

I wonder if Hass might consider coming to our team of happy little vegemites?
I love Haas.

And this may sound insane but personally I would prefer we spent the money elsewhere..

May is doing a job and Pole is developing into a quality prop.

Bringing in Haas disrupts the process.

If it was the Haas equivalent of the backrow or centre I'm all for it .

hahaha

But that's what gets me. We have 5th and 6th options.

For instance in Center we have: Toa, AD, Naden, Feledy, Saukuru, Faataape.
...

Is there anyone here who wouldn't rather combine Naden/Feledy's/Faataape's money into a player like Bradman best?

Best being on 700k, and Naden being on 400k..
Doesn't work that way if Faatape and Feledy are on minimum. You need to allocate a spot and funds. Can't just spend 700K on one player and have 2 vacant spots.

payne haas’ manager telling all the clubs to get their cheque books ready… player unrest at the broncos. someone like him would blow up the player market.
We need to have a crack but need to leave some cash for depth. That's why we're struggling, we have a good first 17 then our depth falls off a cliff. Imagine May and Haas as a starting front row pairing.

The entire Broncos squad might be on the move South. I watched the game last night and the players seemed disinterested and lethargic. No one wanted to really play against the Eagles.
Bronx should hammer the tits next week, then they have the bye and another home game. They will be back on deck and the courier mail will be in overdrive rubbish narrative columns spewing from the printers at HQ.

I think To'a & Doueihi are fine as a starting NRL centre combination. If one of them gets hurt, I'm less happy with Naden/Feledy/Faataape.

Hence why I would take Tupou. I think he's a better player than what we have in the back-ups. Tupou & Faataape should be KOE centres. Lualili'i & Staines KOE wingers. Then you have depth. Add Makasini to that when he's ready.

Often overlooked, but Skelton has missed as many games as he's played. As good as Staines has been, we miss the power metres Skelton offers on early runs.

Guess what? Tupou could provide those too. Naden/Feledy/Faataape do not.

I'd rather spend the $700k on Fifita to play in the second row, our bigger need.

Honestly for him, I would break 1.5m

It's a huge call and it would mean he would be out for Origin. But you start having May + Haas in your starting pack... Suddenly things start looking very different.

Ofcourse Easts may decide to pick him up for 800k a season, 🙁
In a hypothetical situation where Haas was playing for us, you wouldn't have to worry about origin. Suddenly his personality would become a problem. Or his tendency to run sideways for a bit before straightening wouldn't be origin material. Or his contract is too big, therefore he must be distracted from all the media surrounding him.

Luai is luke brooks 2.0. At least luke could win us a game every now and then. Luai has done NOTHING all season. I hate him
Luai is a far more complete player and leader than Brooksy but they both struggle to elevate sides that can’t dominate the middle. It’s a fear I always had, and it’s playing out this year.

Just a thought, but if the million we were going to give Galvin goes to Haas and then some, do we then have the best front row in the comp?
Easily the best starting front rower, perhaps not the best front row rotation. With how May has been used but both might just play the 80.

It’s hard though , you have kids in your junior system like Phoenix Godinet , who you’ve had eyes on since they were 13/14 , and then they sign with your worst enemy when they’re 16/17 . You now have to deal with the grub .
Same as Bula really . He signed with Moses after we negotiated his contract.
He offers the players heaps external of on the field . It’s why they all go to Cove.
The funny thing is we just negotiated a new contract with him for Sukkar .
My guess is? He only does this shit , if the player and thier family gives him the green light .
The Galvin family are as much to blame , if not more so . Same as the bulldogs .
I honestly don’t think we miss much with him . I honestly don’t think he’s anything near the level of 1mil . I don’t see what everyone else is seeing .
I was thinking when Mason went over last night . When had the superstar torched a defence with him alone ? The only time I can remember is the eels game last year . Other than that , he’s been out through a few half holes and got an offload … cool that’s edge forward stuff .
When has he actually split the defence ? Since that 1 time ?
Some good insights- thank you.

If moses is offering services during the players tenure, i think clubs have the resources to replicate same.

Otherwise im sure his defence is that hes operating under the rules. A bit like banks when they went beserk charging people for using ATMs until the regulator reeled them in.

I agree with your assement of the Galvin family. They wouldnt know a thing about coaching but all they are getting is whinging from their "cash cow."

The dogs, well its kind of expected clubs will be ruthless. If it wasnt them, it was the eels.

Heath is a work in progress but with an immaculate pedigree. Better footy minds than mine can determine what he can achieve. But before the match i paid a tribute to him and i wish him every success.

KPP looks to be an exciting signing.

Jury still out on Benji in my view, but he desperately needs some wins.
