Do you expect Makiisini to play NRL next year ?

No I don’t think Makasini will be ready until either late next year, if not 2027.
A Taylan May/To’a centres combination looks pretty decent if they are both at their best, but for me there are too many question marks on them both to solely rely on them to get the job done.
Considering we shouldn’t have to pay Taylan May too much for 2026, it should leave some cap space for another good quality outside back.

I think Makasini is a chance to be playing regularly next season …. And I normally hate pushing young players …he is a good talent … ( maybe not the best I have ever seen like Richo said yesterday )…

Not a huge fan myself but he is a 1st grader
Has experience and would be a starter for sure. I do get the want for pezet etc but with dce week in week out you know what you get

I still don't see the complaints around reynolds. I'm a huge latu fan and when he plays he looks good. It's a big When though.

With that boat sailed you would imagine he gets the year to prove its his spot which is also great.

In saying that richo has his work cut out for him we need depth and talented depth asap.

Staines is a great back up

Signing Reynolds would almost be an acknowledgment that Luai leading the team as Batman has been a failure.

If he plays in the final 17 list. He played GPS rugby on the weekend and I thought all U19 SOO players were excluded from playing last weekend.

Would love to have Pezet. Looked good in his limited first grade experience. Has certainly served his apprenticeship. Where does he fit though? He’ll want a clear path to first grade.

Only suggesting Pezet if Benji & Latu have agreed to focus Latu's development as a 13. Then Pezet comes straight into the halves.

AOB has acknowledged he was going back at every press conference for at least a month. He’s not on the market, if that was the inference.

(In relation to the way it was done)

Also heard in the game commentary,
He packed his house up - Dropped his gear at KPP's joint before the game and then did the Game with the Roosters and recovery today with the Knights.
Odd way to do it, But the Roosters certainly don't care and the Knights need some sort of win -
I'd assume this is how they're selling it.

Odd the 2 biggest Roosters NRL imports in recent times - Both fell Flat.
Going off those kids they've been running out, I think they're all over it anyway....

It's common knowledge that Richo and Reynolds are close, his son manages his 3rd party deals for goodness sakes. So my take on all this, especially after reading Reynolds effusive commentary on how awesome it would be to play for wests tigers, and how great Benji and the team are, however I could not leave my wife and kids for 2 years. Well it really smells like a bit of a setup to get the Broncos to commit to Reyno at a higher contract value asap. We know Richo has come out and stated bluntly that any player contract discussion made public will be cancelled, and in this case, it was Richo making it public, shows to me this is all some Machiavellian move by Richo and co to help out a mate/family client and shake the tree at the Broncs to see who falls out for 26 ( Cobbo/Staggs/Willeson/Haas etc..)

Sorta have a similar feeling....i dont think we were all that serious in this

Agreed. The forward pack is the most pressing after we have signed May. Toa and may will do a job in the centres.

Pole and May starting I'm good with and I like s Fainu off the bench. Still think we need another lock/prop type. Kolaomatangi comes off contract this year doesn't he? He's been playing in the middle lately. Perfect lock.

The reason why it was delayed is cos the Roosters wanted to wait till they had played the Knights. Which is odd considering they clearly see him as a liability, why not just play against him and target him? How do you play a game knowing you will be in the opposition’s colours the next day. Idk how you are supposed to give it your all. He didn’t tank it though.

I think he’d be worth a look for the rest of this season as a back up centre/back row option.
He has a fair bit of NRL experience when he was at the Bulldogs a few years back, he’s a strong ball runner who regularly makes his 150 plus metres per game and not afraid to do the hard hit ups out of his own end.

Isn't he a centre? We just signed Taylan May didn't we?
