For those interested ... a Tiger supporter on twitter put up that Maguire should look at Isaac Luke on a one year contract after losing Farah and now Liddle for next year.

Isaac Luke replied that he would “come in a heartbeat”.

Take it for what it’s worth.

I'm convinced.

I hope we have spies out to see if he owns a Tigers stubby holder. That would really confirm things.

Pretty much the exact size and weight of Cronk. Good runner and defender and has a solid kicking game, Scotty Prince like. Been around for a while, i think he is 24 or 25 so he isnt a kid but is inexperienced in first grade. I think he came from East Tigers in QLD before Melbourne. Melbourne just dont have need for him with there halves stock they have down there.

I'd be happy with your info coming to fruition along with Isaac Luke from Warriors to cover hooker for next year, with a further option in clubs favour for 2021.

Im not to sure about this supposed Billy Walters rumour a 25yr old with only 2 NRL games to his name, I mean really would anyone be mentioning/talking about him if he had a different surname.

Probably not but the Tigers cant make the 8 with Brooks at half and dont have a lot in stock. The guy is stuck behind others at Melbourne, a move to another cub might work out for him and work out for the club he moves to. Worth a shot, as he will be very cheap and i cant see us buying Nathan Cleary. Tigers need a half.

I think Liddle’s new long term injury might force madge’s hand to perhaps look for someone with experience to fill in at hooker next season, especially early on. Brooks is an unknown quantity at dummy half and there is no guarantee that Liddle will recover in time. We need to start the season with a real hooker, not inadequate fill ins like Taylor or Reynolds, otherwise we’ll be on the back foot from round 1. Dummy half is too important a position to be stuffing around with experiments.

Still in the pipeline. Jock is still a kid, I think he is only 18 or 19 and looks 80kg soaking wet last time i saw him, tall kid though probably about 6 foot. They do not want to push him too young into firsts. Plenty of time to ease him into grade. i.e Liddle is 23 this year and 90kg+ and weve seen how his body has held up to the very physical modern game.

I wouldn't be taking what happened on twitter as an indication..we still waiting on Curtis Rona..

More like an established hooker will be sought given the circumstance surrounding Liddle..

Whether it's Issac Luke or someone else who knows...Luke at least kicks goal at a decent strike rate..was playing well for the Warriors but not getting younger and had his own share of injuries himself

I personally dont like him, i think he is a dirty player but he would kill 2 birds with 1 stone, experienced hooker and a much needed goal kicker. Probably get 1 contract of 2 or 3 years out of him as i think he is early 30s. Liddle does worry me with his injuries, hope the kid comes good, but this could be a way to ease Liddle into firsts again. Liddle would be about 26/27 when Luke retires, so Liddles body would be at its peak and we may get 5-8 years out of him from that point.

I personally would prefer to put Moses in the halves with Brooks and go after the fill in hooker we need.

Yeah a Walters and Brooks partnership makes no sense. They are both supposedly quite similar.

Madden makes much more sense as he plays a more organisational role, kicking game and goals. The fact the club not only played him in CC but made him captain suggests they rate him but he does still have a way to go physically and tactically.

I’m hoping the outside back is Tevita Funa or Marioti Hirwara ‘spelling’ and not Gid Gedion Mosby ‘also spelling’.
If the club is fair dinkum about Brooks at hooker I feel that could be the right move for him.
Michael Ennis was a half / five eight for years before finally transitioning to hooker at Canterbury-Bankstown.
Be an interesting team list Tuesday. Although if that is the plan it will still be named.
