Improve the bench is not what you said … you said better than Keppie or Seyfarth..

These are young players whose careers are still going up..not down ..

Seyfarth is in our best 17 every week … maybe Wong is too for the Roosters …he is a good player though …the other aren’t getting picked up every week

Yes because Seyfarth will only be considered as a bench player for us in 2036 except if we get more than a few injuries to our forwards.
Keppie has mainly been considered as a bench player for the majority of his NRL career.
So it makes sense to compare bench players to other bench players doesn’t it ?

well I think Wong is much better player than Seyfarth and Keppie … the others are not in the Roosters best 17…one has already been let go I see

Wong is more similar in size and position to Seyfarth and yes he’s a much better and more dynamic ball runner, but he isn’t known for being a great defender just yet and is prone to an occasional missed tackle or lack of effort play that leads to line breaks or tries conceded.
If swapped with Seyfarth he would improve our attack, but certainly would not improve our defence.
Considering we now have the possibility of having two strong ball carriers who are defensive liabilities on our bench in Hunt and Afoa, we could not afford to have our 3rd bench player as another attack minded player if selecting those 2.
Balance being the key word.

Why does everyone want to keep signing front rowers

IMHO, because the WT continues to select paper-weight category props, they look like under-16s compared to nearly all NRL teams. The consequence is that we are, season after season, outmuscled and dominated, our meters run are at least 10m behind the opposition at the 5th tackle, set after set, game after game.
Our props look like they are tranquilised; their level of intimidation can be at the best compared to a panda!
The same is true for our 2nd rowers; even when we manage to produce an aggressive player, e.g. Nathan Brown, he is quickly eliminated. 😡

The point you are making is true, we quite often look like we are getting physically dominated.
Is it due to lack of size or lack of aggression??
In my opinion it is mainly to do with lack of aggression which leads to lack of physicality and quite often it’s smaller forwards who are more aggressive and back that up with their high speed ball carries and willingness to get off their line fast and whack the opposition forwards when defending.

all off season thus far you have defended Seyfarth as a player skill level that all clubs must carry on the bench … I disagree, but if you are going to argue that Wong is overall no better …it’pretty pointless to continue …

Wong is also only 22 years old and still has considerable upside …he won’t continue to develop though without regular NRL time

BM and SR seem to have a plan which includes depth and propping up a few positions we were clearly weak in over the past 2yrs.
I’m still holding out for a specialist Lock or a mobile middle who has quality runs on the board or can take the next step in their development.
Trey Mooney type at a lower price point, Josh Curran or another project like that Crosby kid or Kalangi Going would be my hope.

That's what I'm saying, you don't want to disrupt the left edge so Makasini when ready will play on the right. So you're blocking his pathway. Maybe I'm completely wrong just my opinion mate.

Look,
He wants to play center. Yes left center/defender is different to Right center.
But cmon, he is a Junior. You get your start whereever we have space available.
Sure if we blocked all center/backline options, walk. It's the Tigers, wont happen.

Till he proves himself in first grade, I reckon he will be grateful for any position.

Yes ..it seems that’s all they have done since the signing of KPP…

The depth has been pretty well stocked already … I would like them to add a starter now ..

Those 4 player are not getting any Wests Tigers doing backflips or jumping for joy, BUT I’m sure you along with many other supporters on this forum do not take any notice of the weekly bench players that are listed for all other NRL clubs ?
If you were taking notice, you would be seeing one, two, sometimes 3 players regularly listed on rival benches that are no better, if not inferior to these 4 players.
I’m not saying I would sign Keppie, as you and others have pointed out his errors and penalties conceded offer negate the good things he does and we already have a few players like that, so another one is probably not a good idea.
However the point I’m making is there are worse players than Sean Keppie appearing on the bench for NRL teams on a weekly basis.

I love it when you impart your wisdom down on us all.

We finished 13th last year,
3 out of the 4 teams below us, Beat us,
And the 1 that didn't - Put 28 points on us and probably should have.

How's the Keppie fixing that?

When the starting team is as far behind the good teams in the Comp as ours is.
Infinite Bench Plodders aren't going to help.
