Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Question mate Tavana is he really any good ? Because I have only seen him a few times and maybe he belongs in a circus with some of those finishing plays

Does he do the hard work out of the back end like Skeleton because I don't know if Skeleton will be here or in Perth in 27

Pole started great got injured and I think when he came back was still injured

Luaali i like him but is 6/7 choice
Why would Perth be after a winger who didn't complete a full season for a side that ran 13th ? Why would he go ??

Plenty of reports in the media recently about how the tigers are confident of retaining Bula. Sounds like Isaac Moses has us exactly where he wants us…
My mail has been consistent from the start and doesn’t seem like it’s changed regardless of this whole rollercoaster.

Bula wants to be at the club long term.

Tigers want to keep him at the club long term.

All the other stuff will work out - I reported on here before that Tigers want to make Jahream a Tiger for life. So expecting not only the option being taken up but also a hefty extension too.

Just hoping we can add a starting calibre middle forward before round 1 next year and I genuinely believe we’ll do special things.

Ata Mariota hasn't confirmed as signed from 2026 onwards with the Raiders.

Richo get on the phone. Samoan background. Could be the final piece to the puzzle.

They get Coby Black. Happy days!

The other who is a smokey is Max Taotua. Kid has all the tools to be a future NRL centre, hopefully he is making every post a winner in pre-season training with the NRL squad.
Any size to him BWG?
You seem on the pulse with the kids…

For far too long our outside backs have been undersized for mine - and more often than not don’t make the transition.

He fits Marshall's view on props today being stockier and able to step in the ruck similar to Pole.

I bloody hope so any footballer who's serious about his career should keep right away from that crap, by the look of the shape he's in it would suggest he's been running a lot so let's hope the little light in the brain has switched on.
Wasn’t there similar stories last year when he came back early and was working on his fitness to play longer minutes and such?
I have the same reservations now that I had then, he’s been in and around top squads for a decade - hard to imagine he’s going somehow become fitter than he’s ever been at a club that’s not real got a good history on fitness at 30 odd years old.

Yeah he's listed at 192cm and 95kg but this was early in '25 so may have grown a tad since then as only a 20yo. He's a strong tackle-busting ball runner & has good agility too.

Played better than Patrick Herbert last year, and there are plenty who believe that’s a good Cup signing?

Very strange decision to not keep Naden on a cup contract and instead go for a guy who hasn’t played for 3 years and has a poor injury history.

Even stranger that the young guys like Makisini and Mason specifically mentioned Naden as the player who helped them the most with their transition to first grade and his role as a mentor.

I would have kept Naden on a Cup contract over guys like Herbert and Lehmann.
naden probably didn’t want a cup contract. ex-nrl guys like him will get paid more money to play in a newcastle comp than on a cup contract lol

I get the cautiousness mate it lingers in the back of all our minds.
But that's the best he’s ever looked from what I can remember so there's a lot of hope/praying going on.

Put it this way if he puts in another shit season we can be the first to throw the poisoness barbs lol.

F hell an all mighty storm just hit here thunder clap scared the crap out of me yikes.

He's played less then 100 NRL games, a fit and motivated RH is an asset to this club

I don’t remember stories about Hunt, but there was definitely stories about Jack Bird and we know how that worked out. It’s one thing to get in shape during the off season. It’s another to make an impact during the grind of a season. Getting into shape should be the bare minimum. Check out the guns on Twal. Probably no fitter looking player at the club. But it doesn’t automatically translate to becoming a gun on the field. The fact some are salivating over Hunt looking fit shows just low the bar is set for him.

‘Unlike Galvin’: Tigers’ swipe as No.1 twist looms

Jahream Bula is reportedly set to remain at the Tigers.

The gun fullback’s future at the merger club was up in the air, being the highet-profile fullback currently available on the open market.

The 23-year-old’s current contract runs out at the end of the 2026 season, but that deal includes two options.

The first is an option in the Tigers favour to extend it for the 2027 season worth around $900,000, while he also has an option in his favour worth $800,000.

Despite doubts surrounding the club’s desire to retain him, club chief executive Shane Richardson made it clear to AAP the Tigers want him to wear the No.1 long term and they are in the process of negotiating a fresh multi-year contract.

He also couldn’t help but take a swipe at Lachlan Galvin, who departed for the Bulldogs midway through the 2025 season.

“I don’t want to do a pick-up of the option, I want to do an extension long term,” he said.

“He wants to be here. Unlike Galvin, who didn’t want to be here, he wants to be here.

“You never count your chickens until they hatch, but I am pretty confident we will get it done.”

The move to extend Bula long-term is a twist, after it was reported that he was a huge chance to leave due to the club not believing he was a genuine $900,000 player.

Tigers powerbrokers have also reportedly sat down with Jarome Luai’s management, with clauses in his contract also making his future cloudy.

He would be free to leave at the end of the 2026 season, but Richardson is confident his squad is now settled — at least for three more years.

“We’re locked in virtually then until the end of 2028. We have a team together with maybe one or two changes to it,” Richardson said.

“If a player doesn’t want to be here, we won’t have him here. And I’ve made those decisions before. But Jahream wants to be here.”

We need Royce to improve for the sake of the team, history doesn't fill us with a feeling of definite that's for sure but even if we get another 10 mins on the field out of him most of us will be happy.
