Ive seen nothing but smart signings lately and see no reason why that wont continue.

Definitely not trying to be negative here, but I am not sure what you mean by that?

Our signings have been:
Musgrove: Banned for a year / sexual assault charges
Jennings: Possibly the worst outside back in the comp / had a terrible season
Billy Walters: At 25 has played one NRL game / did not dominate QLD footy, but was solid. Hopefully decent depth.

I don't see the trend of "good signings" you mention?

In the past we would of let Matto go without asking for anything and then used all his cash to upgrade Masters on a huge 4 year contract.

@ElleryHanley 2 junior maroons , 1 being a hugely sort after dummy half. Walters has good raps on him , not outstanding but solid , on a small amount of coin . Letting people like masters go , and even telling Lawrence he has to sign for minimum wage . God even letting fonua go . In years past he would have got an extra 2 years . Matt Utai is case in point of this !

I emailed our CEO and asked about recruitment and without him giving anything up I think we are going to be better off than people think..

He said we are in for an exciting period re recruitment and we are in the market hard for some real talent.

He didn't give names or timeframes for which I understand but gives me some hope that we are heading in the right direction...

@Yossarian iam not sure about others on the forum, but i am just about over with the way our club is been run. are retention over the last 4-5 years has been woeful to say the least, to let masters to walk and also let matterson pick and chose if he plays when he has a contract for the next two years. why don't we just let them all walk and we just play in the reserve grade comp. the club needs to grow a set and start telling these players who is in charge. we will be lucky to not get the spoon next year IF THINGS KEEP GOING THE WAY THERE GOING. i really thought things would improve when we signed madge, but again all are club gets is heartache, cant see any TOP signings coming, i hope there is a silver lining but things look dire.

This is mid October and clubs are not allowed to sign new players until 1st November at earliest. Hold onto your horses until then. **I am sure that Lomax will be a Wests Tiger** as will Musgrove. The way I see things there will also be at least two more quality signing before the end of the year.

Seriously? What makes you so sure about this Newtown? Lomax is a quality player, we don’t usually win the race for those types of players.

All good points, but we need better. Lomax would be a huge signing. Arrow would be next level...

Hopefully the next few weeks brings some good news.

I don't see the trend of "good signings" you mention?

Forget the first year signings when he was new to the club and judge him on the recent signing.

Apparently $415K next year.
That’s a drop in the ocean considering how much cap money was sitting on the sidelines or in CC this year.

Great idea. Play him in reserve grade, which makes him still apart of the club, with the ability to poison the minds and make other players disgruntled. Only fools would let spite influence such ridiculous ideas.

Hmmm. Asked a mate yesterday who is pretty knowledgeable with most things saints on Lomax and he said he was unaware of anything on this front.

This is becoming a bit of a cliché. It requires us to believe that the coach is dumb, inflexible and never learns from experience, which is hard to believe.

When the Matterson camp came out with this stuff, the club let it out through the media that when Matterson approached Madge at the back end of the season complaining that he was jaded, he gave time off training. This doesn't fit the narrative and suggests to me that the "Madge the tyrant" line is a myth.
