i honestly think re-building around promising juniors is a better way to go than signing 'band-aid' solutions like Milf. Invest in the future because i can't see success in the next 1-2 years. Similar to the way we were building with Benj; Robbie; Fulton; et al in 03/04 and then teddy; moses; brooks et al a few years ago.

We wouldn't have achieved much without Hodgson, Richards,Whatuira,Prince and Payten though.

You left out Ben Galea...i's OK a lot of people do..

I think his point was we wouldn't have achieved what we did without the signings we made in 04 and 05. Galea wasn't one of them.

Ben Galea was re-signed in 2004..

That's great. We're talking about signings from other clubs, not players who debuted for us in 2000.

@trentrunciman one grand final and a total of three finals in twenty years tells me we can’t just rely on juniors because we have had many over those years we can’t keep saying build for next 2/3 years as a supporter I don’t want to wait any longer

But we haven't been relying on juniors. When did we last have a crop of decent juniors through? It was the Brooks/Tedesco/Moses lot and we surrounded them with a busted salary cap and lousy coaching. The last few years we've had next to nothing from the juniors and wasted all our cap money on useless "proven first grade" signings.

We don't have the option of doing what the Roosters do because we haven't got the money to spend outside the cap. Outside that, literally every single successful club depends on a steady supply of good (and, more importantly, cheap) young talent which they can supplement with value signings and the very occasional marquee. The model we need to be following is Canberra, not Canterbury.

Pretty good list of players to be after, lets hope we can get 2 to 3 of them. If we also loose Reynolds and McQueen, another 2 possible of that group would be fantastic upon which to base a team mixed with locals and imports. I'm still suspicious of Liddle's longevity- WT might have to make a play for Billy Brittaon too.

Yeah he seems like a peanut based on his history but he had huge raps on him coming through and started to look like he was delivering on his promise this season.
