I think a good point has been raised ,they should be looking at spine players not wasting whole off season trying to convince players to join .
Only 1 of the 4 is settled being brooks.
Benji on last legs and needs replacement ,
Hooker - Liddell injured all season and realistically do you want to bank your future on him , at end of the day due to the little game time jury still out .
Now fb , whoever they are actually after , LM, JAC , AJ or whoever they need to be confident they are a long term fb option

Any news on what Maguire is doing over in England?

I'm wondering if the strategy for 2020 season is to strengthen and get settled the forward pack and leave the backs in holding pattern until the 2021 season. After all there is not much talent available now in the backs at this stage but a lot more for 2021. Unless of course an opportunity arises in the player market for backs.

I get shouted down constantly but I'm still not sold on Brooks as halfback and I think 2021 with Marshalls retirement at least provides the opportunity for serious thought on way forward.

Hopefully he comes across a hooker to bring back.


Do we actually know he is in the UK?

My recollection was that we were all wondering where he was for the Q&A and then someone said he was on holidays but I never saw it said he was in UK. The way I remember it is someone said I hope he is over in England picking up a big forward and it went from there.

Well that last 10 pages were disappointing. Anyone passing on what they believe to be inside information is shot down by the usual mob who seem to think they own the forum. In the end nothing is closer to being resolved but thank you for those passing on the inside information. I for one appreciate it and trust my own judgement as to if it is legit or not.

Ohh and yeah our fans cant even watch a Q&A session without totally taking out of context what the CEO has said. Some people really need it spelled out arghhhh.

I remember trialling for sg ball for west magpies I was on the wing Tadesco was full back he gave me a perfect 2 man cut out ball strait to my chest I dropped it over the line haha and that was the End of that hahaha

By my reckoning we have 3 spots open for 2020 with somewhere between $1.0-1.1m left in our cap, assuming no movement of our existing high $ low performing players
2021 we have 14 spots open with ~$3.5m, which isn't that much when you consider the 16 players contracted through 2021 are on a combined $6.4m
Even if you assume we end up with 4 on the $115k minimum in 2021 that leaves just a touch over $3m for 10 players

We have 3 spots, but only 2 need to be filled before by round 1. We’re going to sign somebody, come hell or high water. Even if I have to impersonate Pascoe and steal his chequebook. I’m pretty unkempt at times, so it’s not really a stretch for me.
